My apartment complex needs to get Nuked

9-19-02

I'm not even moved in yet.  Hell, I haven't even signed the lease yet, but I want to blow up my apartment complex.  The communist fuckers are trying to tell me what to do and it's downright ridiculous.  It I hadn't paid them my depoist and $30 application fee already - I'd be out the door.  Fuck them I hate them and my life is about to become miserable.   They have eliminated my abliitly to make any choices whatsoever for myself and they are all the exact opposite and will result in 1 of 2 things 1) me being miserable  2) me being broke.

First off - what the fuck is everybody's problem in life?  Since junior year of college - I have not wanted a house phone.  What is the point? It's stupid and a waste of money, but I've always had that 1 roomate that for some reason absolutely needs a house phone.   Note to self - a house phone is a base cost of about $30/month.  My cell phone costs me $40/month and thats for everything - voice mail, call waiting, caller id, a built-in phone book, the phone, and all my calls.    Why am I going to pay an extra $30/mo for a phone to use for local calls? It's an absolute waste.  So for the past 4 years of my cell-phone ownership days, i've had to bite the bullet (until recently) and pay my money for something i literally NEVER used.  NEVER.   So let me explain to you how this little thing called the internet works and your options:

1) you can get dial-up internet.  This costs about $15/mo and is slow, but you need a phone line - which is $30.   Dial up intenet costs $45 due to this fact.

2) DSL is very fast.  to get DSL you pay for your ISP - about $15, your DSL - about $25, plus your phone line - $30.  DSL costs you $70/month.

3) Cable internet is fastest.  you need no phone line, and it costs $20/mo.   Total cost = $20/month

So what does my apartment complex do?  well - they did this nice little merger thing with qwest - they don't allow cable and didn't run cable lines to the apartments.  This is flat out fucking gay.  Now I cannot get cable internet, and more so - If I even want dial-up internet - I have to get a phone line - basically, if I want any internet at my house at all - it will cost me a minimum of $45/month and it'll be VERY fucking slow.  This is communistic as it forces us to all be alike and takes away my democratic privledge of choice.

Let's break this down again.  dial up = $45/slow     dsl=fast/$70   cable=$20/very fast.       the only option i cannot have is the cheap/fast one.

So ok, life will be fine, right?  I can always sit there and watch my cable tv right.  I can't wait - my own apartment, watch whatever I want whenever I want. Hell, Stephanie even told me I can have her tv - so i have one in my bedroom and living room! this is going to fucking rock! It's going to rule.  DEAD FUCKING WRONG!!!!  through this little deal with gay ass qwest (who can't even get their billing straight) I now have only one choice for TV - this would be to use direct TV through a dish they pre-installed on each apartment.  This is flat out fucking retarted.  So I call them to get the cost.  Mind you that cable TV costs $27/mo and gets me ALL channels - local and cable, in every room.   Well, this gay ass apartment complex figured they'd be even more gay than thought possible about this issue.   I have the choice to use direct TV.  This costs me $31.99/mo.    However - if I want local channels that is an extra $7/mo.  But wait - even more exciting.  I have to lease a staellite box thing for $6/mo for the first TV and $10 for each additional TV - also - cable TV has no installation fee, however, Direct TV has a $25 fee.   So here are my options I would have if choosing this on my own:

Direct TV = $32/mo + $7/mo for local channels + $6/mo for first tv's receiver box + $10/mo for 2nd tv's box plus $25 setup = $80 for the first month and $55 for each additional month

Cable TV = both TV's all channels for $27

$27 vs. $80 for cable.   on a 6 month lease that is $300 extra dollars they are charging me for TV.  Is TV that important to me?

FUCKING A I AM PISSED SO PISSED SO PISSED SO PISSED SO PISSED SO PISSED SO PISSED FUCK THIS WORLD
