2006: Divisional Playoffs

Hello and welcome to the first edition of the NFL Column on
Fleetmack.com. This column is written by Z and in no means do I think I
belong on ESPN but I do know more than the average Joe. This column is
also not going to be PC so I will call Eli She-li and use other
derogatory terms. Ok let's get on to the good stuff. Today we're going
to go over last weeks wild card games and take a look ahead to this
weekends divisional games. As for last week:

Indianapolis Colts 23 Kansas City Chefs 8

This game was absolutely boring. Was anyone shocked that Indy won this
game at home? No. Were people shocked that LJ ran for 32 freaking
yards on that shoddy defense? Hells Yes. I almost put money down that
LJ would run for a buck 25. The best part is that Herm (We play to win
the game) Edwards got pissed off cause reporters said his team backed
into the playoffs, ok I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you
earned it, but then you go put forth that kind of effort? Weak.
Manning on the other hand threw 3 picks, 2 of which went to Ty Law who
owns Manning. KC gets the ball inside the 10 and can't get it in, then
L. Tynes shanks the FG, I knew from that moment it was over. Final
thought, Indy won and KC still sucks.

New England Patriots 37 New York J-E-T-S Jets, Jest, Jets 16

This game was ok. It was actually a game till the forth quarter when
the Jets folded. Pats looked ok, not too impressive, but not too bad
either. Brady is the man and in my opinion has taken over as best
current QB over Peyton Manning. The guys #1 receiver is Reche Caldwell
for crying out loud and he still gets it done. Now I used to think that
a loss was never good and you never come out looking good but man the
Jets got something going I think. They had a first year coach, no
backfield threat, and a QB who can't throw more than 35 yards. The Jets
are on the up. QB is up for competition next year so we'll see what
happens.

Philadelphia Eagles 23 New York Giants 20

This was a fun game to watch. I didn't have any vested interest except
for the fact I hate She-li Manning. I think Jeff Garcia played within
himself and didn't force the issue which is all they needed. He made
the throws and didn't turn it over. Brian Westbrook did it all.
Running, catching, and blocking he had a complete game and the eagles
will go as far as he takes them. Man She-li (I will never call him by
his birth name) Manning sucked. He really doesn't look like he has
control of the offense and looks like a whiny little girl. Tiki ran
good and it was nice to see him have a good game for his final one. I'm
calling it now look out, Philly is dangerous.

Seattle Seahawks 21 Dallas Cowgirls 20

This was the best game of the weekend, and not because it's on
Fleetmack. I'm not even going to go into the game instead talk about
what we all want to hear and that's Tony Romo dropped the ball
literally. Man I was laughing my ass off watching him run just to get
tackled and lose the game. So the Tony Romo spectacle is officially
over now. Somehow he is going to the Probowl after playing 10 games
which is absolutely ridiculous but then again I can't really think of
anyone to replace him with, man the NFC is hurting.

Ok now on to this weeks games and predictions.

Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens

We all know what this game is. It's great offense vs. great defense. I
think the Ravens defense is insane and will handle the colts due to the
fact that the colts don't really have a running game. The colts will
move the ball but I see them getting FGs instead of TDs. The only thing
that worries me about the Ravens is their offense. I'm not convinced
that Steve McNair is any good really. He doesn't scare me and if the
colts can get any kind of pass rush they will have a chance at winning
the game. I take Ravens 17 Colts 14.

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints

This is going to be a flat out good game. Philly is the only team in
the NFC coming into the playoffs with any kind of momentum having won 6
in a row now, and NO is the feel good story of this season. Man this is
a hard game to pick. Neither defense is dominant and both offenses are
good but NO is at home and that is always huge. Drew Brees is playing
out of his mind, Deuce is a strong runner between the tackles and Reggie
Bush is a threat as a receiver out of the backfield. I'm going to go
with NO 31 Philly 24 but would not be surprised if Philly wins this
game.

Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears

This game isn't as lopsided as it seems. I mean is anyone really scared
of Da Bears? Their defense is hurting and don't even get me started on
their offense. Rex Kwon-Do is sorry, he has no leadership, no judgment,
and no sense. He is really going to bury this team and I wouldn't be
surprised if we see Brian G before halftime if Rex is sucking. The
Seahawks aren't that much better off. Their secondary is shot and DJ
Hackett is out with Darrell Jackson a maybe. Luckily they still have
Alexander, if he can run on the bears it will make life a whole lot
easier for Matt. The only way the Bears win is if Rex gets lucky like
he did earlier this year. My pick is Seahawks 17 Bears 10, that's my
upset of the week.

New England Patriots at San Diego Chargers

Ok I am a huge Chargers fan so this analysis if you can call it that
will reflect this greatly. I may be a Chargers fan but I am also
realistic and this is the one team I didn't want to face in the playoffs
strictly because of Tom Brady. The guy could take the Bad News Bears to
XLI and they played Baseball and had a girl pitcher! My Bolts do have
the most balanced team in the league. The offense is lead by LT of
course with Antonio Gates keeping the safeties honest by going over the
middle. Vincent Jackson is a star waiting to happen and should have
some very favorable match ups against NE, he is 6'5 230. Our defense
has the best front 7 in football with Phillips and Merriman bringing the
heat from the outside and Jamal Williams clogging up the middle. Our
secondary is ok and really depends on the pressure the front 7 get on
the QB. NE has an ok offense with Dillon and that rookie sharing the
load. Like I said Brady is the shit, nothing else to say. Their
defense is hurting after losing Seau and Harrison to injuries (both
ex-chargers) but they still get the job done. This will be the best
game of the weekend. I take SD 38 NE 28.

Thanks for reading this and if you agree cool, if you don't then oh
well, please send all hate mail to Mack. Go Bolts!
