What I am listening to as I type this:  Phil Vassar - I Thought I Would Never Forget

March 30, 2007

Friday.  Snowboarding.  Gov's Park.  Avs game.  Final 4.  Opening Day.  Holy cow do I ever need this weekend.  Opening day will start two hours earlier than normal this year.  Typically it's 9am at Giggling Grizzly ... this year will be 7am at Charlie's Web (here in Westminster), then hit up the bus to be at Giggz downtown by 10, then chaos will ensue.  I can't wait for Alicia to experience this, I love it when my Iowan friends experience the best things we have to offer in the city.  This is right up there with Buck & Renze being here for Kinetics and Aly and Renze being here for GABF, as those are easily the annually scheduled three most fun days Denver has to offer, but Opening Day is second to none.

Woke up early this morning ... ate breakfast, worked out, did a load of laundry, cleaned my room, cleaned out Laetitia and armor-all'd the dash, packed up a gym bag, and headed out the door.  Yes, energy is abundant today.

Go play the "Worst Game Ever".  I was laughing my ass off.  I can't wait for that movie to come out ... man that's good stuff.

DirecTV is officially on my hate list.  If I wasn't stuck in this fucking contract until November with them ... please explain to me how they can increase your bill roughly $30/mo when you're in a contract.  How is that not one-sided?  Explain to me how they have a monopoly on the NFL and now MLB as well.  How is this legal?!  I simply want 5 channels ... DiscoveryHD, ESPN HD, Altitude, Fox Sports, and Comedy Central.  Well, 2 are in the HD package, 2 are in the Sports Package, and 1 is on the highest level of base packages.  5 fucking channels, that's all I want.  Why don't' they develop some package for like $30/mo where you can pick 5 channels, instead our bill is roughly $120/mo.  Honestly, if I go to the bar for all 16 Seahawks game, say I spend $50/day ... that's $800 for the Seahawks games.  The NFL package alone is $250, plus 5 months x $120 = 600.  This means it's cheaper for me to eat and drink at the bar for 12 hours a day every Sunday for 5 months than to watch the games at home.  Did you hear that? It's MORE expensive to stay at home and watch TV than it is to go to the bar!!! And I already get local channels in HD for free through my antenna since DirecTV can't even give those to me ... they can't even provide to me what I can get for free!!  Fucking absurd, just absurd.  I'm writing a letter.  Come November, I'm done.  After this season (since I'm under contract), no more NFL package for me until this garbage monopolistic bullshit is over with.

Guten Morgen!!  6" of snow on the ground this morning.  Should be a good weekend in snowboard land.  Supposed to be in the 60s this weekend, so hopefully this melts and the weather is nice for opening day.  Have a busy weekend.  Alicia will be here all weekend.  Likely hit up Gov's Park on Friday night.  Saturday is the NCAA games, then probably lay somewhat low Saturday night.  Going snowboarding on Sunday.  Monday is opening day.  I'll have all my homework done by the time I go to bed this fine evening, no sense in ruining a weekend as lovely as this one will be!!  Also got an email today, the ski resorts have extended their closing days, this is a wonderful thing.

I watched the final 10 minutes of Lost last night, it's the first time I've watched it in awhile.  Wow, after skipping about 6 episodes, not only am I confused as to what is going on, but the entire thing seems a bit ridiculous.  I can tell that if I watched it weekly that I would have been shocked by the cliffhanger, instead I thought, "Cool, the new hot chick isn't dead yet."  Yeah, I expect about 20 emails slamming me for saying that ... understandable.  As far as TV goes, let's just say this:  I don't know what I'd do without Growing Pains reruns.

March 28, 2007

A donut sounds delicious right now for some bizarre reason.

99.99% sure I'm skipping my class reunion.  Seriously, who is the idiot who decided to schedule it near the 4th of July?!  That's why I skipped the last one too; then again, I think the whole idea of a 5th year reunion is stupid in of itself.  They should have reunions during homecoming, isn't that the point of "home"coming?!  I'd love to go watch a Kuemper football game again, then have an after party someplace.  Doesn't that sound a million times better than everyone going to Kerps (where we all go anyway, every time we're in Carroll) when its a travel weekend? Somebody should address this.

Work is very busy, outside of work is ridiculously busy, money is next to extinct ... yet life couldn't be better.

Anyone else excited for Grindhouse?  I might have to drag Alicia to that this weekend; we shall also be snowboarding and I convinced her to stay long enough to join us for opening day, after all, it is the most fun day of the year in Denver -- even better than GABF!

What I am listening to as I type this:  Damn Yankees - Rock City

March 27, 2007

I can't remember the last time I've been this happy with my life, in fact I don't know that I ever have.  Any worry about anything in life has been either forgotten or addressed to the point where it doesn't bother me.  Everything seems to be going in the right direction ... man does that feel fantastic!!

Last night consisted of a trip to the airport, Taco Bell, and my bed.  I like the simple nights sometimes.  Tonight will be reading two chapters of the worst textbook ever and writing an analysis on two PowerPoint presentations.

I'm very interested in the NHL again.  This playoff race is getting interesting and the Avs are playing out of their gourds.  I hope they get in, it'd be a shame to end their streak of "every year since they moved to Denver".  I also like that Bertuzzi went to Detroit, that should rejuvenate that rivalry.  I hate that guy.

More feedback from my Professor today:
Excellent work – See my comment below. I liked the costing angle that you took with the decision to choose one method over the other. You scored an (A) for this assignment and 99.14% (A) for week 3. Your overall grade for the course is 98.87% (A).

Amazing how motivated you can be when you actually want something.  I've always detested school.  I never did homework, not in elementary school, junior high, high school, or college.  It didn't matter.  Not that it didn't matter to me, it just doesn't matter, period.  Grade point doesn't mean jack shit, I still stand by that statement.  I just knew I had to get a degree to get a good job.  I knew I wouldn't use anything I learned in school (high school or college) at my job, and I don't.  Now I actually want to learn.  It isn't easy, but I actually care.  I've learned three things from this:

1) Holy shit, I spent WAY too much time studying trying to get out of college with a 3.0, which I didn't even do.  I should have done the bare minimum (I hovered just above that level).  Those people who got 4.0 or such in college and put all kinds of effort into it ... wow, what an extreme waste of time.  If I would have spent this kind of time on my undergrad or high school stuff, I would have killed myself by now.
2) Maybe I shouldn't be (technically) an undergrad student advisor :)
3) When I make up my mind about something, I do it.  I don't care what it takes, it gets done.  And when I'm that sure of something, I'm positive I'm doing the right thing. (yes, I had my doubts at first).

What I am listening to as I type this:  Eazy-E - Neighborhood Sniper

March 26, 2007

Happy Eazy-E day to all!  Tonight we will be listening to Eazy Duz It on a cassette tape at the airport bar.  Seriously.  I have to pick Andy up there tonight, and Josh is working ... Josh told me they have a cassette player behind the bar, I checked out my storage stuff and whipped out an old tape, and thus, we will be listening to grossly obscene music in the midst of other travelers at Pour La France tonight

Back from Vegas, didn't really go to hardcore down there, had quite a bit of homework to do and I'm still quite broke.  A few things about the trip:
A) That was a very long walk from NYNY to Wynn
B) That hotel (Wynn) is insane, puts Mandalay Bay to shame.  I will stay there on my next trip.
C) I saw Jim Stitz in Vegas -- that keeps the streak alive at "every time" I've been to Vegas I've randomly run into somebody I know.
D) I saw this sign in Mandalay Bay.  I got insanely excited.  The show was the next night, 5pm-10:30pm.  Tickets only $30.  I approached the ticket counter.  The show was sold out.  I cried.  What a sick, sick joke that was for the House of Blues to play on me.  Just a sick joke.  I realize the same show is in Denver this Saturday, but it just wouldn't be the same.  I guess I've already seen Chimaira like 5 times so no big deal.
E) I didn't take any pictures, Vegas has officially worn off its excitement in my life.  It'll take a really big deal to get me to go there again.
F)  I wonder if any girl ever wears the clothes she wears in Vegas when she's in her hometown.  I really doubt it.
G) Frank Caliendo is funnier than shit.

Almost 1/2 done with my current class (MSCC 630) and I still have over a 98% going strong.  Yup yup.

Got to ride my bike for about 15 miles yesterday, that felt good.  This good weather is nice, but I was livid when I found out the forecast was wrong and it snowed 10" at Keystone Saturday night.  I had put off my homework until Sunday because the forecast said it was raining in the mountains, then they got dumped on.  Fuck me.

Fabi's client she's worked with for 7 years got 3rd place at the Swiss National Disabled Championships this weekend in two events, I thought that was pretty damn cool.

March 19, 2007

I'm in NYNY hotel right now in Vegas.  It is warm outside (see above, assuming you're on the News page and not index.php).

I did a ton of homework this weekend, and rewarded myself by going to Old Chicago for some 'za (stewie) and trivia Saturday night.  Also logged a monstrous 270 minute phone call with Fabi on Saturday, that's got to be a record for me! Thank God for calling cards, $.03/minute is something I can handle!

It felt great to walk by the center bar in Mandalay this morning.  NYNY is cool I guess, but it's no Mandalay Bay.  We booked our rooms too late so have to stay down the street from our conference.  Tomorrow we get to see a free Hootie & The Blowfish concert and Frank Caliendo comic show at Mandalay Bay free for conference-goers.  I will do homework tonight so I can do that tomorrow, then hopefully I can go out on Wednesday night as well, we shall see.

It is weird having a conference and having to do homework in your spare time.  I just completed a case study on utilizing the Zachman Framework in enterprise architecture with regards to short-term and long-term design/implementation.  I got my project results back from the first two weeks of this class; I was very worried that I wasn't on track, but I got a 95% on the first two segments, and still have a 98% overall grade in that course after roughly 5 research papers (in two weeks) and about 10 online discussion topics.  Also learned how to use Visio to create systems architecture models.  If I can get an A in this class, there is slim-to-no chance I am not graduating with a 4.0.

When Jacob left Mines, he put a quote on my wall:
"Lack of time is one of the biggest lies we perpetrate on ourselves.  We seem to find time for things that are important to us no matter how busy we are."

I truly believe this .... EXCEPT WHEN FUCKING EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING AT THE SAME TIME!!!

Too ....    much ....    homework.   A higher power is going to need to intervene to keep me from going to the bar to watch the NCAA tourney the next two nights.  I've just got way too much to do.  I really don't think I should snowboard this weekend either, there's just not time.  The last thing in the world I need right now is to go to Las Vegas next week.  I'll likely have to sit in my room and do homework every night.  Seriously.

In college?  Nope.  In my social life or with relationships?  Nope.  At work?  Nope.  I've never been stressed out in my life.  Until now.  I'm going fucking insane.  What the hell is going on here?

Very busy at work.  School takes up all my free time.  Can't snowboard to release stress as there is no time.  Trying to find a way to get thee girl I desperately want into this country.  Class reunion falling at the same time my family is coming here.  Can't even think about having a snowball's chance in hell of going to Sausagefest or the annual 4-wheel trip.  Is RAGBRAI even a sure thing?  Attempting to stay in shape somewhat.  Trying to figure out how to afford NYC.  Wondering if Fabienne will be able to get a work Visa and what will happen when she gets here.  Will I have time to spend with Fabi or will school suck it all up?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

My head is just pounding, I think I need to go home.

What the hell is going on these days?  Ridiculous.  The last three mornings the news has talked about a fatal car crash, cops in Lakewood had to kill a man yesterday, there's drug-related vehicular homicides everywhere, the man who killed two teens in a car crash about 3 blocks from my house was sentenced to 20 years yesterday, a 64 year old woman killed 2 14 year old kids arraigned yesterday, an 18 year old died at Breckenridge yesterday, the girl & her boyfriend in Lafayette killed her Mom, Fabienne's friend dies from an avalanche yesterday, and the lone survivor here is a great friend of John's.  This shit needs to end, now.

Talked to Fabi for quite awhile last night as she was quite upset, I feel awful for her.  After that: Homework.  I tell you what my friends, my life sure is exciting these days.  Tonight I'm meeting up with Bob at Old C's in case they have a March Madness pool (I won it there last year) to fill out, then I have to go home and do some research for my 2 research papers I have to write by Sunday.  With all the basketball on Thursday and Friday, hopefully snowboarding Saturday morning, a party Saturday night, and leaving for Vegas on Sunday - it's all but necessary I pull a late-night tonight on these papers.  I promise this'll be the last time I say this: I don't think I've ever been even half as busy as I have been every day since I started school again, this is absolutely killing me.

I haven't shaved for almost two weeks.  I hate shaving, and I hate when people ask, "Are you growing a beard?"  No, I'm not growing a beard, I just hate shaving and, despite how active I can be, I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to shaving, laundry, and keeping my car clean.

Very busy at work, I have a lot of things to wrap up and look into before I head out for my conference next week.  "Looks like you've been missing a lot of work lately, Peter."

Fabi called last night, a very good friend of hers and the two men he was guiding got caught up in a horrific avalanche near Sunnegga.  She said it doesn't look good at all for any of them who were involved.  Please keep them in your prayers.
Update 11:45am:  Her friend passed away this morning.  The other two will be ok.

In case you all wonder how I remember stupid anniversary dates of trivial things, along with everyone's birthdays -- 3 words for you: Recurring Outlook Appointment.  Even if I barely know you, your birthday pops up annually on my Outlook calendar, as do many other reminders - such as "Too $hort day", "Kurt Cobain Day", "Eazy-E Day", etc.  That being said, I deleted one today that popped up for the final time.  "Anniversary of the Worst Day of my Life".  I saw this today, laughed, and thought two things:

A) Has it really been four years?!
B) I can finally, whole-heartedly say that I don't care any more.  I really, truly don't care.  I don't know if I could have even said this same thing three months ago, and I know I've said it several thousand times to lie to myself; today I couldn't be more sure.  It doesn't bother me any more.

I got to ride my bike last night!  I needed one new tire (long story not worth telling) so I dropped my car off, rode my bike home, and rode it back to pick my car up just after 6.  Given that it was only 5 miles or so round-trip, but it felt good to get on it again.  I guess 74 degree whether will do that to a guy, supposed to be equally as warm today.  I'm starting to re-love Colorado weather.

I leave for Vegas on Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!  Those exclamation points are unnecessary, they're just there to make it sound like a monster truck rally.  I'm too broke to party much and I have to do a ton of homework while I'm there.  Probably won't even gamble, unless I throw down a few bucks on the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl, which I will probably do.  I'm going to see Frank Caliendo on Tuesday night, that should be pretty fun.

I'm 99.99% positive I'm going to NYC in mid-May for a long weekend.  I've never been there before and really don't care one way or another if I go to that city at any point in my lifetime, but at the same time, I can't recall being more excited to go anywhere in my life ... including Switzerland.  Yup yup.

March 12, 2007

Daylight savings time has made me feel like the most asinine person on Earth, what a tool I am.  For some reason, I set my clocks back instead of forward.  I had a bike sale in Aurora I was going to go to yesterday with hopes of buying a trainer and possibly a Cake 3 (it was on an extreme sale).  Floyd Landis was there too, so that would have been pretty cool to meet him.  So I, being an idiot, leave my house at 3pm, the sale is over at 5pm.  Once I get to about Evans, I call Bicycle Village to get directions to the store, "Uhm, we're closed, it was over at 5pm".  WHAT?!  I glance at my phone - the time is now 5:20pm.  I set my clock an hour back instead of one hour forward.  I missed the sale, didn't buy anything, and wasted about my whole day because all morning I thought it was 2 hours earlier.  I then proceeded to meet up with Tim to install Juergens' old Bose 6.5" speakers in my rear deck (he has a grinder, which I needed), by the time we were done with that it was 7pm.  I wasted my entire day simply because I'm an idiot.  Humph.

Those new speakers sound fantastic - thanks Aaron!  I tested them with some Soulfly and Tool last night.  So now Laetitia is equipped with 6.5" two-way Infinity speakers in the front door, 6.5" Bose drivers in the rear deck, and 10" Rockford DVC's in the trunk, powered by a monstrous MTX amp.  I'd love to find some way to put my JBL 6x9's in the rear door.  As healthy as I am in most aspects of my life, one area I've always neglected is my hearing.  I am a fan of very loud music, that should be no secret to anybody.  The way I figure it, I'm helping evolution.  If I damage my ears enough, they will develop stronger so future generations can listen to very loud music with no repercussions.  That's what I want my epitaph to read, "A giving individual who sacrificed his hearing for all future generations' benefit."  Ok, I take that back, don't put something that ridiculous on my tombstone ... I just want cheese & pepperoni.

Got a 4 CD set from Tim yesterday for learning to speak German.  Not sure if you've noticed the enormous amount I've been listening to Rammstein lately, I'm trying to get all the songs translated in my mind so I can at least learn correct pronunciation.  I've also been listening to quite a bit of Rosenstolz.

This week is going to absolutely destroy me ... I plan on doing nothing other than homework every night.  It's going to be 70 the next two days, I'd love to ride my bike, but there's just no way I'll have time.

Watched Borat last night, all I can say is this:  It's no Anchorman.  I'll admit I laughed quite a bit and liked it.  It was kinda like 40 Year Old Virgin and Talladega Nights in that I'm glad I watched it, but have no urge to ever see it again.

Random Switzerland Trip Fact of the Day: All stores are only open until 7pm every night   When you snowboard until afternoon or do homework, this allows you to not have to buy souvenirs for anybody as you don't have much time to shop.  I didn't buy anybody any presents or send any postcards; I bought me a hot-tea mug (I don't drink coffee, so they are not called "coffee mugs" in my mind), I bought a clock for me at the bus station in Zurich and I bought chocolate for co-workers at the airport, that's it.

Everybody watch as the dipshit Republican makes a hypocritical ass of himself ... just watch.  Newt, go fuck yourself.

60 degrees today for the 5th day in a row, and it's still simple to find snow.

Note to everyone: When making meat loaf, you aren't supposed to brown the hamburger & turkey meat before you bake it.  Should you do this, it will result in extremely dry food.  Always remember to read the recipe before making asinine assumptions.  I felt like a complete dipshit.

Went to Old C's last night for awhile with the crew, finished my St. Paddy's tour so I could get another shirt I'll never wear.  I donated about 35 t-shirts to goodwill last week, I still have about 70 of them.  It is completely unnecessary.  If you simply took all of my Old Chicago shirts and shirts I've gotten from various runs I've been in, you'd have a stack equivalent to most people's wardrobe.

Weekend plans:  No idea.  I could see myself going to happy hour for a short while tonight. Key words: Short While.  I have a paper to write & turn in.  Might snowboard.  I'd like to work on the Team Blonde website (finally).  Wouldn't mind working ahead in my current class at Regis.  I should really run and work out; I'm trying right now to get in the best shape of my life (seriously) as I have extreme inspiration right now.

After trying Jahja.com, Verizon International, and exploring other calling card options - I've decided that the $.03/minute Nobel Emerald combination calling plan is the best for me. Bought 11 hours of talk time for $20.  That should last me through the weekend.  Holy shit listen to me, I'm a damn pansy who uses his phone and has to worry about getting an astronomical bill.  Am I a 13 year old girl? What happened to the good 'ol days (October) when I only used 6 minutes all month?  Shoot me.

Random Switzerland Trip Fact of the Day: The trams (ski lifts which hold 150 people or so at a time) in Zermatt are so ridiculously high off the ground, at least 500 feet, and they dip down making you feel weightless every once in awhile.  Once you get to the top, the view pad is scary for me to stand on due to my fear of heights.

Here's a hilarious video clip of Jason snowboarding in Switzerland ... classic.

Jajah.com eh?  Thanks Klaver!  This could save me a ridonkulous chunk of change.

Shit like this pisses me off.  I just wrote about 3 paragraphs and realized this isn't the place for it, this deserves its own official rant.

Random Switzerland Trip Fact of the Day: We were regulars at two bars where we were greeted by name: Potter's Pub and the Hexen.  We also became friends with the server (Lara) at Pollux and with the head of entertainment at Grampi's.  The owner of Potter's went out with us twice, and the bartender at the Hexen (my lovely Fabienne) got us into a reservation-only restaurant with no notice.

It was over 60 degrees here yesterday and is supposed to be the same today.  My wireless router hasn't yet been configured.  Last  night I came home, had some food (last night was chicken/brown rice/broccoli), read two chapters, lifted weights, had a snack, did some more reading, watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and went to bed.  The life and times of Bryan Lewis, my friends, is all but exciting these days.

I've been in hardcore health mode since I got back from Europe.  In countless ways, I think that trip has morphed me into a completely different person with shifted priorities in my life.

Email I got last night regarding MSCC 610 (the class I completed on Sunday):
Hi Bryan,
Attached, please find your final project. It was a pleasure to work with you for the past 8 weeks and just want to let you know that you are an excellent student and I am sure you will be very successful in your future classes. If I can help you in any way please let me know. Your final grade is an A.

...and with that, I've been shoved full-force into MSCC 630 ... in which I've already begun working on a 35 page project; this will be the longest paper I've ever written.  Got to love graduate school ;-)

And lastly, remember how I wrote a rant on how much I detest Sony?  Then remember how about a year later Maddox wrote a similar article?  Don't say I didn't warn the world about this absolute garbage company.  Today I got yet another reinforcement:

Random Switzerland Trip Fact of the Day: While nobody speaks English as their primary language, everybody speaks English.  Everyone knows American-Only dates, (4th of July, Thanksgiving, September 11, etc.) while I know nothing about their holidays.  Likewise, "vacation" is called "holiday" there.

DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You heard it here first (unless, that is, you read the July 2005 issue of Men's Health)

I fell asleep at 8pm last night, didn't get up until 6:30 this morning.  Yeah, I think I'm back to normal after my ridiculously long Sunday.  Tonight I again have homework to do, imagine that.  I finally bought a wireless router, so I will likely have a real internet connection at home for the first time in over 5 years. Stupid neighbors put sporadic security on their wireless router so I can't tap in any more.  I won't have time to configure this for a few days as I must get a jump-start on my MSCC 630 class.  Once this degree is over with (a long time from now), I'm going to be so damn happy.

Side note, I'm likely going to have the most ridiculously high phone bill in the history of cell phones this month.  I may have to take out a loan.  On another financial note, glad the market has cooled down, thinking I'll pump my 2006 $$ into the Roth IRA sometime next week.  I'll likely change my allocations to something very conservative for this year's funds, thoughts?

Random Switzerland Trip Fact of the Day: Everything is packaged differently.  Milk is in these paper-ish dispensers and served warm.  Red Bull is in glass bottles.  Smirnoff Ice is in aluminum cans.  All "bottled water" is in glass bottles; likewise you cannot get tap water, you must pay $6 for a glass bottled water.

Important Note: If anybody speaks German or knows somebody who speaks it fluently, please email me.  I may need help here shortly with translating something.

Weekend was good.  Friday I met up with Keith and Dan (who is moving to El Paso shortly) for a couple of beers, then came home and worked on my paper for awhile.  Saturday Tim and I hit up Keystone and found all kinds of powder all over that damn mountain, excellent day.  After a Tecate at Parrot Eyes, we headed back to Denver. Saturday night I stayed home and finished the rough draft of my paper and went to bed around midnight.  Yesterday was a long day.  I set a new personal record for "most time spent on the phone" (all before 8am), did all my laundry, lifted weights, ran 5K, finalized and turned in my paper, went bike trainer shopping (I've decided on this one), went and got a part for my capstrap bindings, took down Christmas lights (finally was warm outside), cleaned my room, vacuumed, scrubbed the floors, cleaned my bathroom, went grocery shopping, went to Goodwill to donate some things, and cooked two meals.  Yes, yesterday was a busy day which lasted from 4am until 10pm ... nonstop.  Woke up this morning and did a quick workout at home.

This week I begin my second class of my Master's program:
MSCC 630: Information Systems Architecture.

I will likely lay low again this week and again try to hit up Keystone or Beaver Creek this weekend.  I'm itching to try out these new binding straps.  I was unable to install them while/before I was in Switzerland as Burton gypped me on a screw I needed, and I couldn't find one that fit.

New Chimaira album is out tomorrow ... nice like rice.

Random Switzerland Trip Fact of the Day: The Alps are a billion times more beautiful than the Rocky Mountains; however, I'd prefer Keystone or Beaver Creek to the snowboarding in Switzerland any day of the week.

As you can tell, I have a new first item in the news.  I will inform you about my trip to Switzerland through this means indefinitely.

This was in The Ten Spot today, I was not amused:
The Bears' Devin Hester returned the Super Bowl's opening kickoff for a touchdown for the first time in history. No penalties were called on the Bears although, strangely, the Seahawks were flagged for old time's sake.

I hate term papers.  Small research papers are a breeze, as you can tell by my near-perfect grades on each one.  It's hard to motivate me to write 15 pages on something non-personal.  So yeah, last night I didn't write my paper again.  I suppose I'll just be a loser and stay home on a Friday night to do homework tonight, otherwise I can't go snowboarding tomorrow.

Again, I never thought I'd say this, but I just wish winter was over this year.  It's been too much to handle.  Half the reason I moved to Colorado was for the warm winters, but this winter has seemed like Iowa; we've had snow on the ground for more than 2 fucking straight months, that's just ridiculous.  I want it gone, now.  Maybe if it was 50 degrees here most days like it typically is, then I could snowboard until June; this season, I'm just worn out.  I've gone hard all year, and I'm sick of driving to work in this shit day after day after day.  Laetitia (who, by the way, did not need an alternator, the guy at the parts store is just brain dead. The idiot cost me $30) slides all over the place, the potholes are ridiculous, and my shoes are getting ruined.  I cannot run outside, I've scraped my windshield more this year than the past 5 combined, and my apartment is cold getting out of bed every morning.  I want warmth and I want it now.  That being said:  I can't wait to go snowboarding tomorrow :)

I have a feeling today's work day is going to draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag.

In case you didn't visit here yesterday, I put up all pictures from Switzerland, they're pretty nifty.

What I am listening to as I type this:  Rammstein - Stein um Stein

March 01, 2007

Like a tool, I again forgot all my notes at work last night, so I didn't work on my paper; I'll have to write it all here tonight and tomorrow night, most likely, if I plan on going riding this weekend (which I fully intend on doing).  I got unpacked fully and got caught up at home last night, I have about 300 documents to scan, and then I'll be good to go.  I cleaned my closet too, found all kinds of garbage I can donate to the Goodwill store as I do not need it.

Three consecutive weeks I've missed Lost now ... yeah, I'm officially waiting for the DVDs to be released.

Laetitia needs a new alternator, ho hum :-/ ... I guess it's been 65K miles, shouldn't break down that quick seeing how the first one last me 150K.  Just going to bite the bullet and pay a tech to do it, it's way too cold outside, plus I'm not fully confident in putting the belt on myself, Eyan did it for me last time.  The car runs fine, the alternator just stopped charging the battery, so I had to jump it whenever I wanted her started.  No biggie, $150 bones.

Hey guess what, I put up about 300 pictures from Switzerland, enjoy!
