Work is still closed today, the interstate is still closed, and I cannot get my car out. Happy holidays! By the way, this is what my front door looks like as of 8:49am, 12-22, MST. Also, Golden got 35" of snow on Wednesday alone.

December 20, 2006

10:01pm update: they just cancelled work for tomorrow (thursday) too, so no further updates, possibly until after new year's (if they cancel on Friday, too), but check back ... fun in the snow!!!

WOO HOO!! SNOW DAY SNOW DAY SNOW DAY!!! They closed the office, up to 24" in the mountains ... I'm fucking out of here!!!  Hopefully they re-open the interstates so I can get up there!!!  I am so ridiculosly excited/happy right now.  My feet are tapping, my eyes are wide, I'm listening to my "pumped-up" active snowboarding mix .... BRING IT ON!! LET IT SNOW!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm damn lucky I don't care for sweet things, because people in my office are very generous and I could easily be packing on 10lbs these days.  I've indulged in some peanut brittle and cheese popcorn because those are absolutely delicious, but that's about as far as it goes.

Now this leads me to a few things, all involving how much I've been running lately (52 miles thusfar in December, and I think I did 56 in November, or something like that):
A) Running this much severely destroys your social life
B) I weigh less than I did senior year of high school right now, 169er.
C) My strength is fading, I need to start lifting again.  My bench sets are down roughly 30lbs right now, and I don't feel as strong.

Regis has accepted me, not officially until noon today, but after that I am cleared to register for whatever I want in their Computer Science Master's program.  I'll be starting out with online classes as I have a few trips lined up (Switzerland and Vegas both by March!) and can't really miss class.

Now explain this to me ... how in the world am I supposed to have any sort of social life until summer?
A) Full-Time job
B) Full-Time student
C) Marathon training
D) Snowboarding season

Uhm, yeah.  After seeing the snow today, I'm tempted to quit my job and move into the mountains for two years while I complete my entire degree online.  I could snowboard every day, ring up monstrous debt, and get my Master's degree by coming back to town once a week for class.  When will this chance ever arise again?  *scratching forehead*

A cold sweat awoke me last evening as I was suffering from a nightmare.  In this horrid dream, somebody shaved off my sideburns.  A word to the wise:  I have a gun, it is by my bed.  It is loaded.  I will shoot you if you try to do this to me, and if for some reason the gun won't fire, prepare to be pistol-whipped with a .40 Glock upside the head.  I don't care if it's out of style (the sideburns, not the pistol-whipping), it's what I do.

I've got a lot on my mind today, I could go on a ten page tirade, but I'll keep each thought to a minimum and try my best to not sound too pessimistic:

Oil drops $1 barrel, gas prices shoot up $.20.  It's holiday season.  Some say this is supply/demand that causes this, I say bullshit.  McDonalds doesn't charge more over lunch hour just because the demand is higher then than it is at 3pm.  Amazing how this happens every year and it's never price gouging.

I'm not normally attracted to blondes, but Tara Conner is beautiful.  No exposure is bad exposure, Tara ;o)

How bad does a president have to fuck up in order to not get elected to a second term in office?  Apparently a surplus turned into the biggest deficit in history, a U.N. and Congress un-approved pointless war, a shitty economy, and an inability to speak coherently are wonderful reasons to re-elect even though he has an approval rating of 36%.

The NFL protecting the QB is way out of hand.  When people are scared to complete a QB sack out of fear of a roughing penalty, and that botched sack turns into a game-losing mistake, well, that's just stupid. (And no, I'm not talking about the Seahawks ... Kelly Herndon just made a bad play ... I'm talking about the Giants game).

They're discussing charging a toll to use I80 through Nebraska.  I've always said, "I don't mind paying taxes."  Whenever election time comes around, I ignore the taxes part of the discussion as I don't care.  I get a ton of services through my tax dollars and I don't mind paying them.  Raise them $100, I don't give a shit as I'm sure I'll get something out of it.  I don't have to pay to climb mountains, for police, for libraries, got a huge discount on college, the Government pays my salary.  Most importantly, and the one I use the most:  I don't have to pay to drive on roads.  God forbid we spend money saving lives by spending it on stem cell research.  God forbid we spend it so you can drive around.  Let's just spend it all blowing up a country for no fucking reason when we can't even support our own country.

Did you find some good pictures when you googled Tara Conner a few paragraphs ago?

Why does it not snow on the weekends, then every Monday I get my report emailed to me (the past 3 weeks):  "12" of new snow at Beaver Creek" .... "10" of new snow at Beaver Creek" .... "12" of new snow at Beaver Creek" ... .yet by Friday, it's gone.

I type fast and don't proof-read, forgive me.

Ok, Tara Conner isn't really that hot, I just saw a great picture of her in her Miss USA crown.  She did look good in that picture.

It's not that I find more reasons to hate teams, it's that teams do stupid things to make me hate them.  Although I don't enjoy the NBA, I'd still cheer for the Nuggets if they're on TV, until I found out what a pussy Carmelo Anthony is.  That guy now ranks right up there with Elway (refusing to play for the team who drafted him, ala Eli Manning) and Romanowski (steroids, face breaker, spits on people) on top of the "I have no respect whatsoever for you" list.  Why?  First off, he re-initiated a fight when it was over ... and second, and more importantly - the damn pussy RUNS AWAY from the guy after he hits him!! What a coward.  It's like the guy who hit me... I had broken up the fight, he takes a cheap shot, then runs away so he doesn't get what he deserves as he knows he's going to get his ass handed to him.  I have no respect for that pussy Carmelo Anthony anymore.  People like him break ankles of guys like me.

------------------------------------------------

Now let's cheer up a bit, it isn't that bad.  I had a lovely evening last night.  Words can't express how great I feel the next morning after a night like last night.  Solitude and productivity.  I ran 6.3 miles last night,  I cleaned my room last night.  I cooked last night (rotini with chicken, fresh tomato, and several spices). I did 2 loads of laundry last night.  I read three chapters of my current book last night.  I watched the Colts/Bungles game last night.  And I was still in bed by 9:45.  I was at work by 7:30 this morning as I had a small project to wrap up before people got on the system.  My Christmas shopping is done.  I didn't have to set foot in a mall this year for shopping, did it all online.  I've got a 12 pack of Newcastle and a growler of Sweet George's Brown Ale (from the Dillon Dam Brewery) in my refrigerator.  I've been snowboarding 8 times this season.  I apparently have a stalker (ok, that's not necessarily good, but she's hot).  I have my grad-school interview tonight, and am 100% confident I'll be accepted, and will start working towards my Master's in three weeks.  I'm in the championship game in both of my fantasy football leagues.  I have to work today, Wednesday, and Thursday... then our Christmas party is Friday, then I don't have to work until January 2, 2007.

My friends, life is good ... life is good.

Congrats to the man known to you as Jobless Jimmy, who had his baby (Tyler "Jobless" James) on Thursday!

Weekend wrap up:  Stayed home Friday night.  Saturday went riding with Adrian and his buddies at Copper Mountain.  I hadn't been there before, the runs aren't nearly as long as those at Keystone, but the two resorts are comparable.  I'd still take Keystone for multiple reasons, but I thoroughly enjoyed that mountain, the rollers are everywhere.  Saturday night I met up with Jeff, Katie, Donato, and Todd in Silverthorn.  We went and saw a Grateful Dead cover band and play some foosball.  Yesterday we hit up Keystone ... snow was shitty on the runs, but in the trees was awesome!  Got back to Denver and went to be around 7pm last night.

Pictures from the weekend are up

Latest pet peeve:  When people post bulletins on MySpace that say "read my blog" or "come comment on my pictures".  Kinda begging for attention, are you?  Me! Me! Me! Me! Are you that desperate and self-centered?  If you're interesting to me, I'll likely be on your page ... if not, I likely don't give a shit.  You don't need to tell me how interesting your new thoughts are and that I should go read them.  How many years have I had this website?  How many emails have I sent out telling you to read it -- oh, that's right, zero.

It appears as though both of my fantasy football teams have made it to the championship game this weekend, giddy up!

Now I said I was done with 2 (T.O. = to = two = 2) and don't even want to think about him and all the stupid shit he does, so I'm going to leave that incident as what it is.  Instead, I'm going to ask you one question ... how does a guy who just donated $1.5 million to a "Youth Development Center" go and be a terrible role model by throwing a punch in an NBA game?  Great way to lead by example.  Ladies and gentlemen, your 2006 Denver Nuggets.  Humph.  Basketball is gay.

I was way too tired, mentally and physically, to run the 10K I had scheduled for last night.  This puts me greatly behind in my quest to run 70 miles in December.  This could be a rough week, because I WILL meet that goal.

T-Minus 4 days and counting until I get a 9 day break from work ...

Ran 5K last night, I'm a little behind on my "70 miles in December" goal, so I need to find a way to run 5K today (Seahawks game is tonight, so it'll be tricky), and fit in 5 miles tomorrow just to be back on pace.  That's what I get for not running on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday!  I'm going to decide at the end of January if I'm going to run the Vancouver marathon with my sister.

Weekend is looking absolutely stellar.  I'm meeting some guys at Woody's tonight for the 'Hawks game.  Tomorrow I'll likely just lift weights, run, and maybe Christmas shop.  Saturday morning I'm going up to Copper Mtn. with Adrian and his buddies for the day.  Saturday night I'm staying in Silverthorn with Jeff & Katie at Donato's place, and Sunday I'm riding with Jeff & Katie and their friends wherever we get the most snow.

*record scratches, people drop their silverware*.  HUH?!??  "Wait a minute here, did Bryan Mack just say that he's skipping NFL Sunday to snowboard?!?"  Look up people, there are pigs flying everywhere.  If you go to hell, bring a coat.  This would never happen if the Seahawks were on.

Is it just me, or do D.J. Hackett and Terrell Owens physically resemble each other to a frightening degree?

I went 10-6 last week for 89 points.  I gained points on the leader (am 8 points out of 1st) but lost two slots and am now in 5th place.  Translation = there are 5 people within 8 points of the lead!! That's going to pose for an incredible stretch run!!!

49ers @ Seahawks 16 Going to be windy tonight, so watch Gore run all over us
Cowboys @ Falcons 9 Not because of Romo, because of Vick vs. Dallas' D
Browns @ Ravens 13 Last 3 Browns games: Shutout, Upset, Shutout .... Pattern continues?  Nope.
Lions @ Packers 10 When in doubt, put big money on Favre at home in December against a terrible team
Texans @ Patriots 12 ... unless Houston got a tape of Brady's audibles, too
Jaguars @ Titans 3 Jags suck on the road, and Vince is on fire right now
Dolphins @ Bills 8 I'm not sure why I picked this one, I regret this pick, Bills will win
Jets @ Vikings 7 This could be wrong too, I don't have confidence in "Penny and the Jets"
Eagles @ Giants 1 Can you believe I'm picking Eli?  I'm not.  I'm picking "Garcia meltdown"
Steelers @ Panthers 11 Ok, so Carolina isn't as good as I thought (sorry for the jinx, Pitt)
Buccaneers @ Bears 15 Rex could show up dressed in high heels and they'll win this one by 45
Redskins @ Saints 14 I'm still very anti-skins this year, and I ain't bettin' against the Saints in New Orleans
Broncos @ Cardinals 2 This should shut the Broncos fans up about Seattle losing to them last week
Chiefs @ Chargers 6 Frankly, I didn't have the balls to pick KC, but I wish I did, they will win
Rams @ Raiders 4 When in doubt, go with The Predator and Torry Holt
Bengals @ Colts 5 Can't stop the run? Palmer to Johnson is unstoppable ... Colts are CRASHING

A friend of mine was in a car accident last night in Iowa in which the other two were killed.  Please keep all involved in your prayers, not an easy time for him I'm sure.

I need help deciding who to use for my QB and WR's this week ... here's my match up (final 4 of the playoffs, the right column is "projected points")

Last night was a busy one.  I got home from work and ran 5 miles, then did a quick weights workout, showered, and went up to Boulder for a focus group.  I got paid $75 to give my input on different Coors Lights packages they're coming up with.  Such prospective new items include (and I've highlighted the ones I liked):

A) 48 pack of beer on wheels (think of a rolling suitcase)
B) Cooler/Backpack with a case of beer in it
C) Free "Beer Wraps" (aka, cheap koozies) with an 18 pack
D) 30 packs packaged as (2) separate 15 packs
E) A 9-pack of canned beer
F) A bag in a 18 pack of beer capable of putting ice in
G) A "cold meter" that tells you how cold the beer is on 24oz cans (Think of the thing on batteries that tells you how much power they have)
H) A design to the aluminum on the can, giving it a new shape (think Bud Ice or Michelob Golden)
I) Some new insulated box
J) A timer that tells you how long to put your beer in the freezer so you remember it's in there (so it doesn't blow up)
K) A "cold sensor" that finds the coldest spot in your refrigerator
L) Glow-in-the-dark bottles

The others in the group thought the 48 pack on wheels was cool, I thought it was fucking ridiculous.  Who needs 48 beers?  And when you have them, how often are you in an area where you can maneuver something so large around ... no steps, no grass, open area -- it'd have no use.  Anyways, I got paid $75 to tell them what I thought of these concepts (they had the items already made & packaged).  Being as worthless as the city of Boulder is (I fucking hate that city), they told me they'd have sandwiches there for us, and they didn't -- so I went until 10:30 last night, after working out, without eating.  I had to brave the E-Coli threat and head to Taco Bell, because there was no way I was going to cook that late!!

Got a new book yesterday, 4 Months to a 4 Hour Marathon.  Pretty sure I'm going to use it, I'm just realizing that honestly, if I keep up my current running pace, I'll be in the best running shape of my life by February ... even better than I was after my 1:58 1/2 marathon or my :47 10K.  As they say ("they" meaning, my Uncle Andy), "If you put in the miles, you will get faster."

And with that, I've got a ton of shit to do.  Seriously give me input on my fantasy team if you'd like.

1. Easily #1 9.   Still playing well 17. WTF?! 25. WTF?!
2. Which Rex will show? 10. Vince is 6-2 18. Lost in Dec. in KC?? 26. WTF?!
3. Brees for MVP? 11. D looks horrible 19. *withholding laughter* 27. These guys are terrible
4. Playing tough still 12. I knew it, fuck me 20. No clue 28. No clue.
5. I could rush 200 yards 13. Come on, Garcia!!!! 21. Eli is gay, couldn't resist 29. WTF?!
6. Mulligan 14. Playoffs!!!! 22. No clue. 30. Wow, the bottom 11 ...
7. Up here again, humph 15. Fast Willie Parker 23. No clue. 31. teams are BAD!!
8. Romo's back to reality 16. No comment. 24. No clue 32. No clue.

A friend of mine was in a car accident last night in Iowa in which the other two were killed.  Please keep all involved in your prayers, not an easy time for him I'm sure.

I've gotta say, I'm just dumbfounded how I don't get beat up more often (more often meaning, ever, as I never have, unless you count the one fight I unsuccessfully broke up, which wasn't really a fight as it was a cheap shot).  If you were to see me Sunday night, even if you were a Seahawks fan and anti-Broncos fan, you'd almost certainly want to punch me roughly eleven times (as a warm up to shooting me).  Man I hate the Broncos.  I'm surprised I'm not banned from BW3's for being as loud and mouthy as I was.  As Towns put it:

IF AN EATING ESTABLISHMENT WANTS TO BAN SOMEONE FOR SHOWING UP IN THEIR BEAR CLAW SLIPPERS AND ANNOYING THEIR OTHER CUSTOMERS BY SCREAMING ABOUT HOW GREAT THE SEAHAWKS ARE AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS THEN I THINK WE SHOULD ASK OURSELVES IF THIS IS A PLACE THAT WE REALLY WANT TO EAT AT.

Yes, for some reason Towns always uses all capital letters whenever he types anything.

Anyways ....  we've got a place booked in Switzerland!!

Fm2 is doing well.  I have a few more CSS things to figure out, the Gallery conversion is coming along slowly but surely, and I set up the Quote database last night (although there's no values in it, it's now set up to pull a random quote from a database each time you visit any page on my site).  I love PHP.  Tonight I'm in a marketing focus group up in Boulder, I get paid $75 so I'm going to use that to buy a web cam, likely will get that set up over the weekend.  So yes, we're still on pace for a January 8th re-launch of Fleetmack.com, on its anniversary (why I picked that date).  Not all features will be up, but for the most part, we'll be pretty money.

Ed Viesturs (the guy I met last month at his book signing) was on the Daily Show last night.

Interview Part 1
Interview Part 2

Yesterday, physically, was a very productive day.  I ran 4.5 miles, I did 7 lift exercises (a whole-body workout), and I actually worked out abs as well (I do that once every 8 years or so).  Anyways, I felt pretty damn good about it!  I don't think I'm going snowboarding this weekend, it didn't snow up there all week, and none is slated for the weekend.  I've been up 6 times already, so I think I can take a week off.  I'll likely go Saturday & Sunday next weekend as Scandless might be out here, and the Seahawks have the Thursday night game so I might skip NFL Sunday.  Anyways, this weekend will likely be me cleaning, running, lifting, and doing Christmas shopping (ugh).  I hate shopping, be ready for me to bitch about it on Monday ...

I had the strangest dream last night, seriously ...

Now how many people can say their favorite musical artist has been nominated for a Grammy for the past 7 years?  My guess:  Not many.

2001: Slipknot: Best Metal Performance: Wait & Bleed
2002: Slipknot: Best Metal Performance: Left Behind
2003: Slipknot: Best Metal Performance: My Plague
2003: Stone Sour: Best Metal Performance: Get Inside
2004: Stone Sour: Best Metal Performance: Inhale
2005: Slipknot: Best Hard Rock Performance: Duality
2005: Slipknot: Best Metal Performance: Vermilion
2006: Slipknot: Best Metal Performance: Before I Forget (won)
2007: Stone Sour: Best Metal Performance: 30/30-150

That's right ladies and gentlemen, you can continue to tell me I listen to fucked up, unpopular, shitty music ... but please realize that over 7 years, Corey Taylor has compromised 9 Grammy nominations with two bands, with an amazing streak of 7 consecutive years of nominations.

ISU/Iowa game tonight.  Literally, the only basketball game at any level I care about all year.  The final installment of that pussy-ass cunt Adam Haluska.  The man who can't keep his word.  The man who gives my hometown a bad name.  The man who I have less respect for than O.J. Simpson, yet my entire home town worships this little traitor.

Happy Birthday Dad!!!

Stone Sour has been nominated for a Grammy again, this time for 30/30-150, which I don't think I could have possibly praised any more than I already have.  They have some insane competition, going against Slayer, Lamb of God, and Mastadon ... wow!!  Anyways, great to see the man Corey Taylor up for a Grammy for the sixth consecutive year.

For all those trailer parks I ripped apart, and all those documents I didn't keep in order yesterday, I apologize.  It wasn't weather-related as you thought, that was simply my enormous sigh of relief blowing across the country when the Royals traded Ambiorix Burgos.  I'm also sorry for the tremors my scream of "THANK FUCKING GOD!!" may have caused, I didn't realize I'd scream it so loudly that it'd shatter 98% of the country's windows.

Ran another 5K last night ... this 70 miles in December goal is going to be tricky, there's no room for "Taking an extra day off".  I'm not certain I'll be able to do 100 miles next month, but we will see.  Tonight I have to do a 10K to make up for taking Monday off and only running 2 miles last Friday.  I hope it's warm outside because I really don't want to run on a damn treadmill for that long.

Last week I went 9-7 for 89 points, still sitting firmly in 3rd place at Old Chicago ... and with that, here comes the "Mack Meltdown" week:

Browns @ Steelers 6 If Frye isn't playing, the Browns' chances improve dramatically.
Falcons @ Buccaneers 9 Buccaneers suck
Ravens @ Chiefs 3 Chiefs don't lose at Arrowhead in December
Bills @ Jets 11 This is your upset special, the Bills will win even though I don't think so
Colts @ Jaguars 4 Jags are tougher than you think at home
Vikings @ Lions 1 Kitna will throw 6 TD's to spite my fantasy team since I have a BYE this week
Patriots @ Dolphins 10 This is probably wrong, the Fish always play the Pats tough
Saints @ Cowboys 2 The week Romo melts down, go read Dr. Z's article on Romo, he's throwing bad passes
Giants @ Panthers 8 I can't give up on the Panthers yet, plus Eli listens to Coldplay
Raiders @ Bengals 14 We'll see if the Bungles can stay hot
Eagles @ Redskins 13 Garcia is my newest fantasy-team acquisition
Titans @ Texans 7 Titans are playing out of their minds right now, Vince is a monster
Packers @ 49ers 5 I have absolutely no idea what will happen here, which Favre will show up?
Seahawks @ Cardinals 15 Time to clinch the Division.  Seahawks are 5-0 with Matt & Shaun both playing.
Broncos @ Chargers 16 Watch Merriman just rape Cutler all day long.  Watch Bryan Mack laugh his ass off.
Bears @ Rams 12 This one could also be wrong, along with the other 15

The site has been moved from the temporary dedicated server back to the shared server.  I think eAccelerator has optimized my PHP code, which is what was causing a lot of my high load issue on the server.  Anyways, expect no more down time to the site until closer to the fm2 conversion (still slated for January 8th, although I won't have the gallery completed by then, unfortunately).  Disregard the forum skin change, it's a test thing that isn't working, it'll go away later this week.

The new Slipknot two-DVD set came out yesterday (Voliminal: Inside the Nine) ... I only watched the first one last night as I had to complete my application (see below).  It is quite bizarre ... and there are definitely some disgusting things on there.  Couldn't expect less from the 'knot!!

Pictures are up of me running the Colder Boulder.

I finally compiled everything I needed and turned in my graduate school application last evening.  Transcripts from ISU are on order, now I sit back and wait.  Thanks to Kris, Jeremy, and Mom & Dad for their help with one of my essays I had to write.  I think I'm money.  Should I get in, I'll be taking my first two classes online, from there I'll be in a classroom for 24 credit hours, then I have a 6 credit project to complete.  It'll be a long two years being a full time employee and full time student, but it'll be worth it.

Ok, I suppose these are the power rankings.  Again, remember this isn't who is going to the playoffs, it is the teams who are hardest to beat at this time (ie, Titans):

1. Don't bet against them 9.   Bush finally did something 17. Bob'll be pissed 25. Scrams, 3 games back
2. HUGE win this week 10.Yes, I'm serious 18. Done 26. What a 1st half
3. I saw that coming 11. I can't give up on them 19. Over 27. These bottom 6 ...
4. Brady is good 12. They can still win 20. On to next season ... 28. ... are all God-awful
5. Wow, almost shut out 13. Cutler is the answer.  HA! 21. I dislike Eli Manning 29. Edge finally got 100
6. Turning it on 14. Garsha, Garsha, Garsha! 22. Again, season over 30. Sorry Murdock
7. BRONCOS SUCK!!! 15. What the hell?! 23. Who are the Chefs? 31. This isn't an NFL team
8. Rex sucks ass 16. No more playoff hopes 24. Great googeley moogeley 32. Is this a team at all???

Ryan won his Colder Boulder wave yesterday, that was quite impressive.  I beat my goal by 75 seconds with a time of 23:45, so I am pleased as well.  Running hills and steep inclines has paid off as I passed about half of my wave on the hill, it didn't faze me in the least. I think I finished about 15th out of 40.  That may be way off.  The Colder Boulder was my "warm up" to running (although it was only 8 degrees outside during the run).  I fully plan on remaining focused on running this year, and will complete all of my remaining running goals in 2007 (45 minute 10K, sub-4-hour marathon, 21 minute 5K ... all in competitive settings).

We all know I love my women small in size.  I'm pretty sure Jen was the tallest girl I've ever dated for over 6 months (unless I was with Becky for that long, not sure how long I dated her, but she was 5'11"), and she's about 5'3" or so I think.  Steph is 5'1", and Jessica might be 4'11" barefoot if you don't count her mounds of hair.  You can now imagine how elated I was when my post-race massage yesterday was given by a girl who was quite possibly only 4'9" tall.  I watched her give other people massages before me, and they lasted about 4-5 minutes, and she didn't do unto them anything remotely close to what she did to me.  This joy of a woman gave me a 15 minute massage.  Mind you this is in the open, in the Folsom Field field house with hundreds of people around.  Now, I couldn't make up this next part if I tried, and I swear on my deathbed it's true:  She says to me during my massage, "Unless you're uncomfortable with it, I'm going to straddle you in order to get some more pressure on you."     !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  "Uhm, yes, that'll be fine."  I cannot believe I didn't propose marriage to her on the spot.  This was a top-10 moment of coolest things that've ever happened to me.

GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

Josh Brown, I couldn't be happier that you are the kicker for the Seattle Seahawks.  You are irreplaceable.

I now know that watching the Seahawks in person is ten trillion times better than watching them on television.

It is quite astonishing that I didn't get beat up last night.  I was very mouthy after the game, so much so that my throat feels like hell today from screaming at the stupid Bronco fans.

I'm wearing my Marcus Trufant jersey at work today.

Reinforcement: While I'm not certain of this word's part of speech, I can tell you this is how I feel about my hatred for Broncos fans after yesterday.

I present to you, a sequence of text messages sent to me last night:

Towns: 6:13pm: Seahawks suck, get ready to feel the mile high thunder
Towns: 6:30pm: You guys realize you don't get points for not catching the ball right?
Towns: 7:20pm: another classic Broncos-Seahawks game huh? Reminds me of those old afc west ass whippings
Val: 8:45pm: R u sorry that u waited in the cold to watch the seahawks lose

Josh: 10:41am:  I would like to thank you very much for beating the broncos last night.  It was a heart breaking defeat for those no talent ass clowns

I present to you, a sequence of text messages I sent last night:

Towns: 10:09pm: So   is cutler the answer?
Val: 10:10pm: Yup  pretty sorry about it   by the way cutler is the answer
Towns: 10:15pm: Cutler is the answer  he can hand it off like a rock star
Cristina: 10:15pm: The highest of them
Towns: 10:19pm:  He rules the team that almost made the playoffs   good move tanahan

I hate Breckenridge.  It's the new Vail (which is a similie to hell, aka, a place I will (hopefully) never go).  When you try to fix something that was perfect, it's proven that you ruin a snowboarding mecca, and you lose a regular customer.  I will never go back to that horrid place.  My favorite bar is gone.  Instead of 2 24oz Coors Lizzles for $6, it is now $4 for a 16oz.  There are no more free snacks.  You now have to pay to park.  There is half the parking there used to be and you now have to park 5 miles outside of the city, catch a shuttle bus that stops 5 times, then switch shuttle buses once you reach town.  But hey, on the bright side, they have a gondola in the parking lot now (assuming you get there early enough to get one of the very limited sparking spots in that lot) so you don't have to ride that horrid 5 minute shuttle bus (note: Extreme sarasm).

Pictures are up

December 01, 2006

Back in 1999, when I first met Library Jennifer, Fern met some guy on campus she was equally obsessed with.  We then deemed them our "imaginary girlfriend" and "imaginary boyfriend".  Whenever Fern and I would cross paths on campus or ride Cy-Ride together, we'd say "So, did you talk to your imaginary girlfriend/boyfriend today?".  LJ no longer qualifies as an imaginary girlfriend as I don't see her on a daily, yearly, or bi-yearly basis any more, so she needs a replacement until she resurfaces.  My new imaginary girlfriend is a girl who always seems to run on the treadmill back at my apartment complex at the same time as me.  Last night was interesting ... short, but interesting.  She wasn't there last night, and I got my quick 5K run in, and walked back through the snow to my apartment.  I suddenly realized I forgot my water bottle on the treadmill, so I braved the 15 degree temps and walked back over there to get it.  She was there, on my treadmill, and mocked my wearing of shorts when it was so cold outside.  She could whip the living shit out of me in a race, it wouldn't even be funny.  Regardless, I was thrilled that I was in my apartment disgruntled that I didn't see her, then I went back to get my water bottle and got to talk to her.  Ahhhh the simple thrills of having imaginary girlfriends.  They're so much better than the real thing as they don't occupy any of my time, talk to me on the phone, call with an emergency (that is never a true emergency), or require me to stay over at her place.  Imaginary girlfriends are second to none in this world.  Well, maybe second to a Seahawks Super Bowl victory, but that's a tough call.

Ryan told me he ran 100 miles in November.  I am dumbfounded by this as I thought I was running a lot and I only ran around 45 miles.  This has given me a new goal.  I will run 70 miles in December, and will shoot for 100 in January.  I won't be able to do 100 in February or March due to Switzerland and Vegas trips, respectively.

Tonight I will run 4 miles after work (maybe run into IG? (Imaginary Girlfriend)), possibly go to Old C's for a quick beer or three.  Tomorrow going snowboarding all day, probably lay low on Saturday night.  Running the Colder Boulder on Sunday morning, which will be very cold and I won't do well -- I'll be lucky to break 25 minutes, humph.  Tailgating at nooner on Sunday, and the Seahawks game is at 6:15.  You have no idea how excited I am for this, I've never been to a Seahawks game before, and as much as I talk about them (spend on them, watch them, read about them, think about the team, etc.), I'm shocked this'll be my first.

Here are this week's NFL picks (yes, I realize I already lost the first game, but I posted these yesterday), I went 10-6 last week with a total of 99 points (out of 136) ... I'm now 24 out of first place at Old C's ....
