R.I.P. Mitch Hedberg -- the funniest man on Earth, thank you SO much for every laugh.  I think you could be the first man who made me laugh so hard I cried.

Surgery is creepin'.....it creeps and it crawls and it creeps and it crawls and it creeps and it crawls, creep creep....  Hmmm, MP3 of the day?  Yup.  Anyways, I'm excited to get that surgery done, I'm just upset that I'm giving up KICKASS snowboarding conditions for this, but oh well - it's worth it.  I do live in Colorado and do have a season pass, so it's not like next year it won't happen, I'm just disappointed I only got up about 20 times this year, that's my 4 season record-low....easily...and I had a condo this year! Sheesh.

I'm back at work.  My throat is better, my allergies are horrendous, and my voice is shot.  Hopefully I'm not contageous.  I watched Fletch, Weird Science, and a bunch of TV yesterday.  I hadn't stepped foot outside in like 40 hours or so, so this morning felt nice.

I have a ton of Easter pix and will have a ton of Opening Day pix I'm sure, but I don't have time to work on this site right now, kinda fell behind the last 2 days....plus I have my pre-op today so it's a short work day, and I leave tomorrow to go out of state (yes, again) for the weekend...won't have time for fleetmack until Tuesday at least... adios.

I'm sick, this'll probably be a half-day for me.  I have a lot of Day-Quill in me right now, we'll see how I feel when that wears off, which should be shortly as I drank about half the bottle at 5am when I couldn't sleep due to my throat hurting so badly.  I really hope to be 100% this weekend when I fly back for Grandma's 90th birthday.

I got my grocery shopping, ironing, and laundry done last night...but I'm too sick to work out right now.  I don't know where this came from, I very rarely get sick. I feel "under the weather"...but this is pretty much full-blown sick.   I dislike this with a great intensity.  Tonight I shall sleep, that's it, sleep.  Probably leaving here at nooner or so to go home and sleep.

How do you like the new forums?   There's a bug or two, I'm working on them (such as white-on-white text in the secondary log-on box).  Sarah did a kickass job on my new logo - I freakin' love it!

Anyways, Random Thoughts pt. VI is almost done.....and I finally am 90% done with my FLM review, look for both of those to be posted next week.  Sorry about the delay on that.  Next step is the full completion of the pictures pages, followed by the revamp of the main page and browsing style, then we'll officially be on 2.0....right now I'm thinking we're on about Fleetmack.com v. 1.0.27 or so the way I calculate it.  I'm done talking now.  Oh - I put up Savannah pictures, they aren't that good.

Happy Monday! Had a wonderful Easter weekend, couldn't have gone better.   I have pictures, but I haven't even had time to post my Savannah pictures yet so you'll just have to wait.

I feel like complete shit, Ferris.

Hahhahahahahhahahaha, whoa hahahhahahaha.  The comments are the best part.

Remember when I said I was going to revamp the site...then I said instead I was doing it one step at a time, and I started doing little bits and pieces at a time?  We'll I've redone a BIG piece of it now....upgraded my PHP, MySQL, phpBB, phpAdmin, and on top of all that (which is all security issues that you don't care about).... I've now gone and done this...   So since upgrading all that and fixing my guestbook's vulnerabilities a few months back -- this site should now be 100% secure from future hacking attempts (as they were mostly successful).  Yup.

NO MEAT TODAY FOR THE LAST TIME!!!

I was away yesterday, sorry...but I'm back now for Good Friday.  I'll have to find some sort of Easter MP3 today, we'll see what I can come up with shortly....

Tomorrow we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Eazy-E's death....wow, can't believe it's been that long.

Weekend plans:  Jess's cousins from Texas and Tennessee are in town, so we're going to the Grizzly Rose tonight assuming the flights aren't delayed, with the weather - don't be shocked if they are.   Not sure what's up on Saturday, then Sunday is Easter....egg hunts are inevitible....good food is inevitible...

Did you see they cancelled the Rockies game due to bees yesterday?

Getting pissed off here -- I can't snowboard due to pre-op requirements for my eyes and can't snowboard afterwards.  So it starts DUMPING snow...another 16" predicted this weekend.  I'm getting bitter, very bitter.

Bought opening day tickets yesterday ... giggidy giggidy giggidy!! I fly out to Rochester in 7 days, and to the airport again tonight.  I just realized, come next week - I'll be at roughly 15 trips to the airport in 2005, note that I went there several times while driving WNBA players there.  Yup yup it's teddy.

Happy Burrito Day!  I have nothign to say today, I really can't think of a damn thing to say, last night I ate Chik-Fil-A.  Hey, that rhymed.  Touche. Maybe I'll go eat some hay, down by the bay, I just may, what do you say?

We went to Red Robin to eat last night...you need to find out if one is near you, it was very very very tasty I must say, I was highly impressed.  I had the 5 Alarm Burger (minus the Mayo, of course), yummy.  Jess stole the gigantic thing of seasoning from our table, so we're good to go for awhile...the little thief  :o)

I don't need justify this and I shouldn't have to.  I don't care what you say, Michael Jackson is innocent as hell.  I'll even give him MP3 of the day today.

I'm hungry.  I hate spring break, they close the gym early and make me feel bad about myself.  Henry Rollins rules.  I need to get back to work.

Good weekend! Friday I went to Gov's and Fado's with Mike and his buddies.   Saturday we re-arranged the living room and lounged watching the NCAA Tourney in HD -- I finally bought a quality HD antenna so I now can pull in Fox, CBS, and NBC in HD (no ABC though, humph).  Saturday night went to Fox & Hound with Chris, Beth, Tim, Mike, and Jessica...I was pretty good because I had to drive.  Yesterday I went to church, watched the ISU game at Old C's, napped, cooked, watched Ladder 49 (after burning it...I love $1 McDonald's DVD rentals), watched Arrested Development as I had taped it, and went to bed.  However, while laying in bed last night, I notcied that people looking at my nightstand would think I'm a borderline-psychotic dangerous pervert who is living in the past but is confused about religion.  What do you think?   I'm not even going to show you what I took off the nightstand before I took the picture, then you'd really wonder!  I bet you do already.

I caved in last night and checked my voice mails as I missed a call I really didn't want to miss (I think, but don't know, they didn't leave a message).   Let me give you a new version of "hell" to me.  "You have 26 new messages."  You can imagine how excited I was about that.  Was disappointed that I missed a call from Scott and he was in town from Boston and I didn't know it.

What's on the agenda for me?  This weekend is Easter, so I have plans for that.   The following Friday I fly to Rochester, MN for my Grandma's 90th birthday.  I come back to Denver on Sunday, and that Monday is both opening day and the NCAA Championship game.  I go to work Tuesday and Wednesday, then have LASIK done on Thursday and have Friday off work.  The following weekend I have no plans, then I go to the Slipknot concert in Denver the next Wednesday, and 2 days later leave for Iowa for another Slipknot concert.  My goal is then to get back to Denver in time to run the Cherry Creek Sneak.  We'll see.  Sometimes all I want is for my life to just s    l  o  w    d   o   w    n.

MP3 is up today, and pic of the day will be a Wil$on picture as I have disabled the Wil$on page temporarily.  Enjoy this new one - it rules.

Snoop a loop, bring your green hat.  Speaking of green - I successfully (through 17 missed calls...by far a new record) didn't leave my apartment last night.  Bob was probably 13 of those calls.  Instead I was very cool and watched the O.C., basketball games, did laundry, cooked, scrubbed and cleaned my bathroom floors, mirrors, walls, tub, etc., I unpacked, and went to bed around 10, wasn't too bad.  I burned Predator, The Incredibles, and Road Trip last night.  My DVD collection is quickly growing HUGE!! Thinking about doing the same tonight.  I'd LOVE to go snowboarding this weekend, but starting Saturday I'm not allowed to wear contacts anymore...hopefully ever.   Ohhhh LASIK...my dream.  I shall now go write a quick countdown code and post it on my news page dedicated to you.

Cyclones start at 10:30 today, I'd like to see them win.  I have them even beating UNC (not northern colorado) in round 2, but losing to Florida in round 3.  Is that that bad to do that?  I mean we did beat the #2 team in the country on the road this year.  Why can't we beat UNC on neutral ground?  Yeah.

My weekend plans are void.  I really don't feel like doing much, maybe watch some games here and there, clean my place up, maybe finish my FLM review that I started 2 months ago, maybe actually work on the revamped site for awhile, who knows who knows.   Hell, maybe I'll start building my Linux box, been putting that off for 2 1/2 years now, it's about time.  I'm boring today, sorry.  My pictures from Savannah are at home, they're not very exciting.

You know, some days I just detest traveling.  Yesterday was one of those days.  I don't want to bitch too much here...so I won't at all.  I'll just say that Orbitz emails me every time a flight is delayed (like I check my email while I'm in the airport (ok, I admit, I actually do)).... either way.... here's my inbox as of last night, that should tell the tale of how f**king long it took me to get back to Denver.   Then I came to work....2 servers are crashed....humph...

But I am back.....haven't even touched my bag yet.  Everyone wants to go out tonight for St. Paddy's Day but I really think I'm going to sit this one out.  I'm just too damn tired, and I have no urge to go to a block party or to Fado's or wherever...just no urge at all, none.  It's NCAA - I'd rather watch some b-ball ... it's the only good basketball in existence so why not actually watch it for 4 days when it's fun?  Today through Sunday.  Yup yup it's Teddy.....not John G.

Oh - I haven't checked my voice mail yet in March, it's kind of my goal to not check it until March is over.

Shit I'm tired and busy, that's all you get today, screw it.

Greetings from Savannah! It's warm here! See above.... I have a wireless connection in my hotel room (At the Riverfront Marriott) so am updating this through notepad by actually typing code for once at 1:26a.m. Savannah rocks, I have a kickass river view from my hotel room. We went out around town last night, to Sorry Charlie's and a few other bars. Randomly ran into a CSM Student we know who graduated 1 1/2 years ago in the bar and hung out with her and her friend. She told us to go to this bar and order a "Call A Cab".... their specialty drink. Wow - horrible horrible idea. I've been hungover all day. I slept 'till 3pm, went out and had some shrimp for lunch, then straight back to bed. Don't EVER order a "Call A Cab"... I went back to the bar I had it at today just to ask what was in it ... it's a daquari (sp?) ... we ordered larges. A large "Call A Cab" has 4 shots of 190 proof grain alcohol. I took a picture of the sign for proof of this. Don't EVER order a "call a cab"

My conference starts tomorrow, should be pretty cool. we're presenting on Wednesday, then I fly back to Denver that night. All the talk about here is about that Nichols guy -- I was in Atlanta when they caught him so it was all over the news. Looks like he found God when talking with his hostage -- I hope that's no lie.

Anyways, thought I'd drop you a line right-quick during my trip...hope you all had a great weekend - and note that the Cyclones will win round 1 against Minnesota but then, unfortunately, they play UNC in round 2 (one of my 2 picks to win it all (Washington)). Adios todos.

Chris LeDoux, R.I.P. -- thanks for the good tunes that you'll very regularly see in the "what i am listening to as i type this" slot above. (wow, twice in 2005 already!)   MP3 of the day is for you, bud.

Thursday...the weekend grows near.  GO CYCLONES!! Wish I could be in KC today, but I guess I'm not, that really sucks but I'm not going to dwell on it...nothing I can do about it.  I can say that the Baylor Bears are going down today, however!

Played poker with Mike, Tim, and Brian last night....I lost (imagine that).  Tonight I get to watch the O.C.  then go get a haircut, and iron/pack for the 5 day trip to Savannah, GA.  Speaking of the O.C....apparently tonight there's a preview for Star Wars during the show...now since when did they start having previews for previews?  That's just f'in stoopid. [sic]

I don't have much to say today, sorry.

Remember the car wreck I talked about yesterday?  And I quote myself, "I've never in my life seen a car that destroyed", well - that picture atop is the proof.  Here's the story. Andy and I drove by last night, there's flowers and a sign up there. Please pray for the family of the victim, this just brings back really bad memories to me.  I can't believe I was that close to that accident.  I turned into the apartment complex about 20 yards in front of the accident moments after it happened, before the cops arrived.  Thank God I was running a bit late.

Why am I going to hell?  Now don't get me wrong, this is a HORRIBLE story, http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/03/09/mass.poisoning/index.html ... but wow, that 6th paragraph under the bold face intro cracked my ass up.

I haven't got much to say today really....just keeping busy, gotta try to get my shit together both in the gym and at home before I head out to Savannah for 5 days or so....

March 08, 2005

I'm trying to find a news story on the car accident I came across last night.  No exaggerations, 4 firetrucks, 4 ambulances, 1 helicopter, and at least 15 cops....and a Honda Civic that was absolutely demolished.  This was just down the road from my place, I've never in my life seen a car that destroyed, there's no way the guy lived.  Trying to find it but can't find anything in the Denver Post...do they even report stories like this in a city this big?  Who knows...

The Seahawks have lost Ken Lucas and Chike Okeafor in the last few days....this is not good, our defense is bad enough already.  And speaking of....mark my words (and Vegas will hear from me soon on this)..... Your 2005 NFC West Champions (and possible NFC Champions) --- the Arizona Cardinals.

I went to the gym before work today again, 2 straight days...ran (very poorly) and lifted biceps (very poorly)...ah well, it got me out of bed and moving around early, we'll make up for it over lunch and after work I'm sure.

I've already burned through a 15 pack and a 50 pack of blank DVD's, I'm addicted to burning DVD's....I'm going to start backing up my own DVD's next I think, then just keep a copy of them in the safe as well, why not?!  Already got the MP3's and pictures backed up in the fireproof safe, it feels nice being secure.

Laetitia got some Silverstar headlights installed on her last week   --  I couldn't be happier, wow - those things are just incredibly sweet - I can see for miles!  I highly recommend the upgrade, use ebay, as always.

Just as I ditched all use of Internet Explorer about 6 months ago, we are currently in the process of eliminating Outlook Express from the Microsoft vault of products I use.   The new (and so far better) client?  Mozilla Thunderbird....rock and roll.  I can't wait to buy my new computer case, mobo, and p4 processor.  My present PC at home is going to be morphed into a Red Hat Linux box, while I'm constructing and upgrading my Dell into a homemade multimedia machine.  It's halfway there, just give me abotut $300 to play with and I'll have a homemade black cased p4 3.0Ghz PC with a gig of ram, DVD burner, front card reader, a 30GB internal HDD, 200GB internal HDD, and 160 External HDD...also will have neon lights and such, on top of a kickass soundblaster and TV input so I can convert all my VHS tapes to DVD....can't wait, can't wait.  And in the meanwhile, I'll master Linux so in a year or three here I can host an Apache/PHP server myself....giggidy giggidy giggidy!!!!

The way I figure it, Microsoft is good for multimedia, but if you're going to be on the web, and to be secure (for email, web hosting, web surfing, etc.) ... Linux and Mozilla are the ONLY ways to go.  So Microsoft will stick around for my multimedia, other than that -- adios.  Give me a year.

MP3 for today is a trio of MP3s ...but all the same song.  That's right...the original and 2 remixes of a song...and honestly, I can't decide which of the 3 versions I like best...I love them all, truly love them all.  New pictures were up yesterday too...have a looksie...

Wonderful weekend....great time.  Stayed up at my condo all weekend with Jess, Juan, and Coco....rode the board all day on Saturday at Breck with everyone (pix up later today or tomorrow), played some hardcore Nintendo Super Mario (original)....yadda yadda yadda -- fantastic weekend.  Napped yesterday during the day, then murdered the day by watching TV and ordering Pizza Hut while doing laundry, which I never folded and actually think is still in the laundry machines, not sure.   Got up this morning and ran 5K before work so I'm jump-started.  Am no longer going to Kansas City for the Big XII tourney (don't ask), but I leave for Savannah, GA on Saturday ... come back Wednesday night.... so the goal is to get a great work-out week in this week, enjoy my trip, then back just in time for March Madness!! WOO HOO!!!

Eye surgery is just around the corner.....getting.....excited....    I'm hoping for a TON of more snow too, as I can't snowboard until likely the 10th of April, so we need a lot of it -- unless I go the Sunday of March Madness (when I thought I'd be in KC)...but I'm not supposed to wear contacts after March 19th any more....oh man.....

New MP3 is up, new pic of the day, and as aforementioned, new pictures will be up shortly....have a great week.

March 04, 2005

The first time I was even in Las Vegas, I was in Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum as my convention I was at for work had our evening event held there.  There was a guy from England in our group who had never been to the States before, and about halfway through the tour, he looked at me and said "You know, I have no idea who any of these people are." I said "Really?"  And he said, "Well, in the 'President's Room', I knew all of them."   The Brit started educating me on the American Presidents and I was amazed that he could count them back, in order, better than I could - as I could only go back to JFK, he could practically count back to Millard Fillmore.

Who?

Anyways....we got to the sports room and it had become a game to me to see if this guy knew who anybody was.  I point to Michael Jordan, I assumed he had to know who Michael Jordan was!  I said "Do you know who that is?"....with an upset look on his face, he replied that he didn't.  When I told him who it was, he said "Ahh, I know the name but I wouldn't have known that was him."    Ok, I can believe that, this guy has some credibility.  I'm just shocked though, this guy knew who nobody was!!  As we exit the sports room, he turns to me and says "Why didn't they have Mo Vaughn in there?"

Ha!! This guy didn't know who Michael Jordan was, he didn't know Marilyn Monroe, he had no clue who John Wayne was....but he knew Mo Vaughn!!!  What the hell do they teach people over in England?!

True story, and I have no idea why I waited 2 years to tell it.  I'm going to the mountains after work today for the weekend with Jessica, Coco, and Juan...could be the last time I get to ride the board this year as I'm forefitting the rest of the season to get eye surgery.  I can't wear contacts any more after March 19th, and no contacts means no snowboarding until my eyes work on their own.  On that note, I leave you with one question -- why did God (who is perfect) give people eyes if he couldn't seem to make anybody's work.....are they that complicated?  I tend to think not if a doctor can fix them!  Ok, I better clarify that I'm just joking before God gets pissed and makes me go blind here in a month.  Sorry :)  I'm sure you have Your reasons.

Gary Thompson called his last game for Iowa State last night.  I love that picture of him hugging Cy.  Now normally when a broadcaster retires, I don't know who the hell they are.  When ISU's football announcer died a few years back (see, you'll hate me, but I don't even remember his name)...I never knew who he was.   But Gary Thompson, wow, I recall listening to this guy (and knowing who he was) when I was about 6 years old.  In fact, he was the first announcer I knew by name.   I remember him specifically because back then, in the phenomenal years of ISU Basketball with legends Jeff Grayer, Jeff Hornacek, LaFester Rhodes, Terry Woods.....wow, what a team, but another member of that team was Gary Thompkins.  I always confused the two even though one was an older white guy and the other was a short black basketball player...but hey, I was 6.  Point being, I remember Gary for a long time, so while it's great to see him finish his career at Iowa State, he will be missed.

In other news, I don't announce birthday's on here any more, but it's a part of my website...it's Sexy Kelly's (from AskSexyKelly) birthday today!  Wish her a happy birthday if you'd like, I won't tell you how old she is, she'll get mad at me :)  But to celebrate I will finally post a question she's answered.  We're not posting these all by any means, but once in awhile, we'll give you a taste of what she has to offer....so go check it out on her page, then ask her a question if you'd like, but don't ask her how old she is, women hate that :)

I downloaded both the video for Vermilion Pt. 2 and the live performance on Conan of before I forget from pulseofthemaggots.com, if you enjoy either of those songs, you should do the same.  I must admit I was disappointed in the Vermilion Pt. 2 video -- I loved Pt. 1's video and I am obsessed with the actual song of Pt. 2, but the video was kinda bland....very symbolic of the lyrics though.  The Conan performance was, as usual, kickass.  It's now in the "slipknot videos" folder on the maxtor one-touch.  By the way - I think it should be required that every human own a Maxtor One-Touch hard drive to store all their music, videos, pictures, files, etc. on -- then back them up.  Then you can trade with usb plug & play.  At least Renze and I have this figured out!

New MP3 is up, new Picture of the day is up, watch me on a little jump if you'd like, then post something in the guestbook, or the forums.  Or go read some stories or thoughts of mine.  Who ever said this site has nothing to do on it?!  Sheesh.  have a good one!

Dammit, I fell asleep last night around 10 so I didn't get to see Slipknot on Conan -- I set my VCR but forgot to turn it off, so the timer never kicked in.   Shit.  Also forgot to set my VCR today for Fuse...they're debuting the video for Vermilion Pt. 2 at 2p.m. MST today.  Damn, I'm sure I'll be able to download both shortly, we'll see we'll see.  On the bright side -- it's burrito day!

I have been very very very productive this week both at work and away from work.  I've done kickass at the gym, got everything in order at home, all laundry done, dvd burning is going great (got about 55+ burned as of today, and as we type Arrested Development: Season One, Disc Three is being burned).  Tonight I start my "re-education" faze ... I'm going to go to Barnes & Noble for 2 hours once a week and just read new programming books and such, trying to re-educate myself.  I will likely do this every Wednesday because Wednesday's are the absolute worst possible nights for me to go out, always have been, and people always try to coax me into going out on Wednesdays, not any more, not here.

I booked a flight to Rochester, MN for my Grandma's 90th birthday party in early-April.   That should be pretty cool, the entire side of Mom's side of the family will be there besides my Aunt Lorena, but it's been forever since we've all been together, probably since Grandpa's funeral in 1995.  So here's how my weekends look for the next month and a half or so:
This weekend:  Snowboarding with Jessica, Juan, and Coco and staying in my condo in Silverthorn
Next weekend:  Fly to Savannah, GA for work
Following weekend:  Drive to KC with Tim, Katie, and Nicole for the Big XII tournament (this saturday stop wearing contacts for my scheduled LASIK surgery (april 7))
Following weekend: Easter weekend!
Following weekend:  Fly to Rochester, MN to drive to New Hampton for Grandma's 90th birthday party
Following weekend:  Eye Surgery weekend, probably relax
Following weekend:  no plans....snowboard if conditions are still kickass
Following weekend:  Drive to Iowa for Slipknot show (will have seen them in Denver 3 days prior)

And BOOM - just like that - It'll be May!  Yup, busy times are ahead of me.   Anyways, yup.  As I said yesterday, ski trip pix are up, and yeah, that's all for today!  Adios todos.

OK, we're in productive/healthy week mode.  Ate perfet yesterday, so far today. Worked out pretty good yesterday and got a jump start today by arriving at the gym, post-breakfast, at 6:30.  We'll get a good run in during lunch, some more weights tonight, finish up laundry and ironing tonight, then I'll be back on track as if I never partied for 4 days with the boys from the homeland!

Slipknot is on Conan tonight, hopefully they're playing the new single slated to come out shortly, Before I Forget.  Which, by the way, is an excellent song to run to.  I always bang my head if I'm on a treadmill right when he says "I!" (before he says...."am a world before I am a man")   "I!" (was a creature before I could stand)  "I!" (will remember before I forget, before I forget this!).  But yeah, when he says "I", it's a great time to bang your head so the sweat will fly off you.   Point being: watch Conan tonight, I will.  And even though they were robbed at the Grammy's, we should at least respect the fact that they dressed up for the occastion! Look, no jumpsuits!  Sid even wore a tophat, nice work.  More Slipknot news....if you've watched my DVD you've seen the highly impressive drum solo by Joey....well....just read from the Roadrunner website:

Slipknot's last couple of travels across the US were scaled-down back-to-the-basics set-ups, so prepare yourselves for a full-on show on the Subliminal Verses Tour. You will be hearing music the band has yet to play live, Joey's kit will be reaching new heights (yes, hydraulics), and there will be conceptual visuals never before seen!

WOOO!! I'm all pumped up for Slipknot....yup.  Anyways, new (non Slipknot, if you can believe) MP3 is up.  Wil$on pages are down, nobody has submitted anything to me so it was all old anyways.  Pictures/Movies from Breckenridge this weekend are up....and lots more to come in the upcoming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.  Adios todos.
