HELP ME GET FREE SHIT FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!! (read the 5th post)

RUN FORREST RUN!!  Translation:  I ran last night for the first time since I broke my ankle.  I went on the elliptical for 25 minutes and then ran .... mind you it was only 1 mile and it took me fucking 9:15 to run, but I assure you -- I can now run!!! WOO HOO!!!

I finally put up pix from the Iowa trip ... you know where they are.

Off work at 3 today until Tuesday, should be nice.  FINALLY going snowboarding tomorrow.  Laetitia is getting a new CV Joint put on her front driver's side today.  I've been putting that off for (literally) about 14000 miles, but it finally started clicking at me, so it was time.  She'll be happy when I pick her up today, I'm even going to wash her this weekend ... first time since July.  Then she's getting some old-school taillights put on vs. my current white-outs (I'm tired of getting pulled over), and I'm fixing the rear-window brake light.

New Year's plans?  I don't really care, just so a snowboard is strapped to my feet at some point in time, I could care less what happens.  I'm ripping all of my sister's CD's right now, should hopefully put me over the 2000 mark of ripped CD's (plus my other 20GB of random MP3's not on those CD's).  When am I ever going to listen to all these?!

Happy New Year!  Be safe, adios todos.

HELP ME GET FREE SHIT FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!! (read the 5th post)

Quick update ... no pix yet though, really busy.   Iowa trip was cool, but not as cool (literally) as last year. (it was below 0 the whole time last year, not counting wind chill)  It was in the 30's-40's the whole time, nice!  Had a great Christmas, got to see a lot of people, got to fix a lot of computers, and Santa was ~incredibly~ good to me.  Wow!  Got back to Denver after dark on Tuesday, yesterday was a long day at work coupled by a long afternoon at the mall (I ripped my work pants and needed new ones -- 2 new pairs and 6 pairs of socks at The Gap Outlet for $60 after tax! Giggidy!)  Tonight I make my last purchase of the season, the new boots.....

I'm trying them on, and if they fit, I'm going with the Vans Fargo 76 boot.  When it comes to snowboarding and gear, only 2 things have won my brand loyalty permanently.  Vans has conquered the boot market for me, and Burton has conquered the bindings market.  Boards, pants, gloves, other gear, helmets (ha), etc. --- I could care less.  But if you make me use non-Burton bindings or non-Vans boots, I'm not going to be pleased.  I really hope these things fit.

I'm so damn excited to get on the board this weekend.  It's supposed to be snowing all day New Year's Eve and New Year's Day (unfortunatlely, I don't think I can go NYE :o(   )    but WOW ... New Year's Day, I can't wait.   I think I'm going to get a hotel by myself for the night of the 1st if I can't find anyone to go and I'm going all day on the 2nd as well.  I'd love to go on NYE as well with Mike and all his friends, but I'm not sure that can happen.  I should listen to myself more, then I'd be able to.  I guess that's the price you pay.  Do you know how disgustingly awesome it'd be to ride 3 straight days in these conditions, in new gear, after being inactive for so damn long?!  I seriously can't contain myself thinking about it....

I've gotta stop thinking about snowboarding or I'll get nothing done today.

Going out to eat with Jessie tonight, then finally going to see J.R.'s movie, giggidy!! Nothing elaborate for dinner, but at the same time - it's above and beyond delicious.  Haven't been here for WAY too long.  More tomorrow, but pix might be awhile, but trust me - I have them.

Yup, I'm back from Iowa, but I'm very busy  ... here's a funny picture I took.  Those of you who have never been to Iowa just don't know what it's like to live there I bet.  (empty) corn fields, muddy roads, and dead pigs in a dumpster were the roadside scenery on this particular day (December 23rd).

When I get out of the shower in the morning, my normal thing is that I stand there in either boxers or a towel and brush my teeth.  Step 2 is to grab a cologne of my choice and give it two sprays ... one on my chest and one on my neck.   Well, this morning I made a slight error as I was in kind of a hurry and my bathroom was a wreck as I was packing to go to Iowa.  Instead of grabbing the cologne, I grabbed my hairspray.  Yes, I sprayed hairspray on my chest and then on my face, it burned.  Now all my chest hair feels like it's sticking to my shirt and it's all stuck together.  I should have showered again but I was running late the way it was.  I feel really dumb.

About the dreams page... I said I was going to write my dreams immediately when I woke up.  Twice this week I had kickass dreams and then didn't feel like writing them so went back to sleep.  Am I really going to walk to my computer at 3am to type up a dream report?  No.   For this reason, I'm going to buy a little tape recorder thing and when I wake up in the middle of the night, I can just lay there and talk to my tape recorder (or I guess I could just use my MP3 player) to describe my dream, then type it up in the morning.   That's good thinkin', eh?  Anyways, one of last nights dreams is up and running on the dreams page.

I'm not an advocate of TD celebrations, but this quote from today's 10 Spot has me very curious:

Bengals receiver Chad Johnson claims that he will use a live deer as part of his end-zone celebration if he scores this Saturday against the Bills.

Can you eat this pie in 15 bites?  I can't, it takes me 16 bites.  My sister can do it though.

I'm leaving today to go home, so there won't be any updates until one week from yesterday, er, the 28th of December.  Looking forward to the trip home.   Tim and I are leaving early this afternoon.  I may be going out in Des Moines on Monday but I'm not 100% positive of that, gotta leave doors open by not commiting whole-heartedly to that.

Special Christmas MP3 is up, my favorite Christmas song ever, easily.

After the new year, there are going to be a few major changes to fleetmack.com, nothing you'll probably notice, but they are definitely improvements and things I've spent a lot of time on.  Just thought I'd fill you in.  Also, in the next year I plan on going to a full mySQL database-run website.  Currently only the guestbook and forums are powered by mySQL, but I'd like to get a lot more into the Linux stuff.  Call it a goal, call it what you will, but expect it to happen.

Anyways, I hope you all have a merry Christmas.  Don't buy into this "Happy Holidays" crap that's abundant this season.  I updated my Christmas story on the religion page.

Travel safe and be safe after you arrive to wherever you're going!

The NFL 2006 Pro Bowl roster comes out today, rumor has it that .... drumroll please .... the TOP RANKED NFC QB (Matt Hasselbeck) is getting snubbed for fuckhead (and 10th ranked in the NFC!!) Eli Manning.

Now I've hated Eli Manning from day 1 as he's every bit of a pussy/fag/whiner that John Elway is.  "Oh, look at me, I don't like the team who drafted me, I will cry and bitch about it because I'm so damn special."   Fuck Eli Manning, I've got news for him -- teams draft you, you don't draft your team.

That being said, let's do a quick rundown here of this year's stats between Eli and Matt:

Matt Hasselbeck Eli Manning
Team Record 12-2 10-4
Passing Yards 3215 3314
Completion % 64.5% 52.6%
TD's 22 22
INT's 9 16
QB Rating 96.3 75.4

Call me crazy, but it seems blatently obvious who's had the better year.  I won't even bring up the fact of how pro-Giants the refs are this year and how many of those Eli Manning TD's are bullshit.  How do you take someone from the NFC's best team .... that team's leader .... who has lost twice ... who has the BEST QB RANKING IN THE NFC .... over Eli "crybaby fuckhead interception king" Manning.

If this rumor is true, I am going to flip out.

Tuesday, hmmm.  This'll be a quick week.  I didn't do much last night, finished building a computer for Jessica, it's ready to go.  Kinda cool project, for $6 I was able to double the RAM, install Win2K SP4 (from 98), and add a cd burner.   (She got it for free) Rebuilt the whole thing and slapped Office 2003 on it, it went from trash to a nice computer.  It's almost like there should be a show about it, Extreme Makeover: Computer Edition.  Anyways, got that done ... laundry and ironing is done, Christmas shopping is done, my room is clean, my bathroom is clean, ... life is good, I'm almost caught up 100% with everything in my life, feels nice.   Guess I'll wait for the inevitable disaster now that everything is in it's right place .... ;o)  Or I could just think positive and keep everything good, let's just go with that approach.

Was at the gym around 6:30 this morning, so got a solid hour+ in of weights this morning.  Did some chest and biceps .... then I'll hit the elliptical over lunch for a hardcore cardio workout (yesterday's was like the fire at the circus:  intense), nice solid day in the gym.

Tonight I need to get a haircut and run to the Westminster Rec Center for a quick minute, and start packing.  Leaving Thursday after work (3pm) and I need to get my stuff together tonight so I'm not in panic mode the morning before I leave like I always do.  I'm sick of doing everything last minute and am doing very well in changing that aspect of my life.

Agenda: Taking off Thursday after work with Tim, driving through the night back to Iowa.  I'll be in Carroll from Friday-Monday midday, then Tim and I are heading to Des Moines or Ames to see some friends, then back to Denver on Tuesday, back to work for 2 days, then it's New Year's weekend already, then back to work for a few, then my Birthday.    Watch closely how fast these next 3 weeks fly by, it'll be at mach speeds.

By the way, I only add people on myspace if I know them.  I don't care if it's that I know them personally or as an internet friend, but if I haven't heard of you before, don't count on me adding you, which is why I have only like 30 people.  I don't add bands or those stupid slutty spam ads that people think are real women either.   Also -- if your name is part capital letters and part lowercase (ex:  FleeTM@ck) ... you don't get added just because it looks ridiculous.   MySpace is kinda cool though, I've got to admit, I've found a few people from college I never thought I'd see again, and just yesterday AndrewJSmith77 and cameron were discovered .... sweeeeeeeet.

HOLY SHIT!! The Royals signed Scott Elarton, Mark Grudzielenik, and Doug Mientkiewicz!!!!! 3 Solid players!! I honestly can't believe we could sign 3 players of that calibur - maybe we finally are going to be a 1/2 way decent team!  Shit yeah!! Rock on!!!  This is much better than our "Brian Anderson", "Benito Santiago", "Juan Gonzalez" signings of past years .... nice like rice.

Christmas Shopping - 99.9% done, all the big stuff is done, yee haw!  Do you have any idea how good it feels ot know you don't have to go back to the mall for another year?!  I couldn't be happier about this.

Tonight I'm going to the gym, then to Natalie's party, tomorrow morning I'm going snowboarding then I'm coming back here and taking Jessica out on a date.  Sunday will be the norm ... football.  Got a big crew coming over this week ... Duuuuuuuude and Keith (the regulars), Bob (the says-he'll-come-every-week but has once), Murdock (the special guest appearance) then - of course, Andy and I.

Anywho, new MP3 and pic of the day are up ... yup yup it's Teddy, ready with the 1-2 checkup.

Payday!  Giggidy!!  Bonus payday as I made $75 last night in a marketing focus group.  We watched 4 storyboards of possible new Levi's commercials and gave our opinions.   A couple of them were actually pretty funny ... yup, funny.   You heard it here first, next October Levi's will be going towards a comical marketing strategy ...  somewhat.

I'm kicking major ass Christmas shopping this year, I'm talking MAJOR ass kicking here, I just flat-out rule.  Ok, that's incorrect, but I'm damn near average!  That's a compliment and a half for me if I do say so myself!  Everyone has at least something .... and I've got lots of people to give presents this year.

Tonight I'll finish up shopping (hopefully), go to the gym, fill out my football picks, hell - I might even squeeze in a good 'ol Chrismukkah viewing (circa The O.C.) for old times sake.

I can't wait, in just 48 hours, I will have ridden my snowboard.  That's right, folks ... I'm going to try to ride my snowboard on Saturday morning.  Just the morning though, I don't want to over-do it on my first real exercise on a mountain since mid-August ... plus  I've got plans Saturday night.   Oh man, this weekend is going to flat-out rule, looking to be one of the best of the year, seriously.   Normally it'd be frustrating as I'd be panic-Christmas shopping as I normally haven't started yet, but see paragraph 2 of today's news for why that's not happening this year.

Any-who, if anyone knows how to make a full dash (not a hyphen) on an Oracle 9iR2 database using SQL ASCII characters (and no, it's not CHAR(151) or CHAR(45) )  I'd greatly appreciate you telling me to do so.  I learned a new nifty trick today to tell you the ASCII codes of everything using Oracle SQL ... pretty slick, as copied and pasted in an email from a pretty-much flat-out Oracle genius:

I got a tremendous night's sleep last night, it was exactly what I needed.   Got some Christmas shopping done, and got a good portion of a website I'm working on for an acquaintance completed and live.  Tonight I'm working out then taking part in a marketing focus group downtown for $75 ... not bad for 1 1/2 hours of my time!   This weekend should be cool, Nat's having a cocktail party on Friday night, Saturday morning I'm going to attempt snowboarding, Saturday night I'm going out with Jess, and Sunday Sunday Sunday is Football Football Football.  Giggidy Giggidy Giggidy!  I'm busy, adios.

If Tiny Elvis (aka, Nicholas Cage on an old SNL episode) were to look at me right now, he'd say, "Look at that gut man, that is huge!"

About 2 weeks ago, I tipped the scales at a monsterous 184lbs.  I normally range between 172 and 175 ... but 9 times out of 10 I weigh about 173.5lbs.   Point being - I'm 10lbs heavier than I was before I broke my ankle.  Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but you must understand that since I wasn't lifting (many) weights other than my dumbeslls at home, my muscles (and entire right leg) have deterioated.  So I lost muscle and gained that much fat.  I likely have about 15 additional pounds of fat on me than I did in late August.

I will reverse this by the end of January at the absolute latest, but I want it 1/2 done by my birthday.  15lbs shall be cut and turned back into muscle.  How will I do this?  I'm currrently in stage 1 of the plan.  This stage will last for 2 weeks ... after which, I will share stage 2 with you.

Food:   small breakfast (yogurt & banana, or a few hard-boiled egg whites with 3 pieces of canadian bacon).    Lunch is anything goes in small portions ... but keep the fat to a bare minimum.  Today is leftover spaghetti with cottage cheese.   Dinner will be a smoothie, made up of a banana, cup of yogurt, 1/2 scoop of protein powder, water, and ice cubes.    If I need a snack, the only 2 allowables are 1 banana OR a handful of almonds.  2 weeks ... that's that.   Saturday or Sunday ( I can pick ) I can eat whatever the hell I want.

Exercise:  5 days of the week I will do (2) 20 minute sessions (each day) on the elliptical (I can't run for 9 more days as part of my ankle's rehab).  Not that bullshit kind of exercise you see people do either, I'll have (and have had) sweat dripping from my forehead within 6 minutes.  Also, each weekday I will do 45minutes - 1 hour of weights.   Saturday will entail me doing a full-body workout at the gym and 28 minutes on the elliptical (intervals, hence the reason for 28 minutes ... 5 to warm up, then 1 minute of 95% effort followed by 2 easy (easier) minutes, for 4 intervals ... followed by a 3 minute cool down).  Sunday - I watch football all day.

I've been following this since, uhm, last Thursday I think ... but I slipped up in the eating department on the weekend, but nothing to terrible.

Wish me luck, it's been smooth sailing so far because I rule.

I'm going to finally admit it, I am THE most paranoid person I can think of off the top of my head.  We got a notice on our apartment door that, again, Hondas are being stolen like crazy in our area.  Last night, tired as I can possibly be, I had to park about a block away as there were no parking spots.  I am flat-out scared to park there, that's where my windows were smashed out once already, and I hate having my car parked that far away from me, so I was nervous to begin with last night as I took off my faceplate and made sure anything of value (even my mini-mag lite) was out of the car.   All night I was paranoid, didn't fall asleep until about 2am, then there was 2 times when I got up because I SWORE I heard my alarm (was sleeping in my clothes in case something happened) grabbed the glock, and headed outside ... in the freezing cold, ran (on a pretty-much healed ankle) to where my car was parked to find her sitting there peacefully.  After the second time I got to thinking about a few things:

A) I need to buy a parking space that is right outside my window
B) I need mental help
C) It wouldn't be possible for me to hear my car alarm from a block away through buildings and my walls
D) I need mental help
E) I really need a club and to get that damn killswitch installed

I don't want any Christmas presents this year, I've already gotten 3 of them:

ISU/Iowa (9-10-05)    W    23-3

ISU/Iowa (12-9-05)     W    72-60

Seahawks 11-2, NFC West title, 2 Game Lead for NFC Home-Field Throughout the Playoffs.   (by the way, we've outscored our opponents 83-3 the last 2 games.  Don't tell me these teams suck, the 49ers and Eagles' last games that were non-Seahawks games... yes, they both lost, but the combined scores were 43-33, yup yup).

Life is good right now, very very good.

Anyone going to the ISU/Iowa game this weekend better boo the living shit out of that pussy-fag Adam Haluska.  I'd give anything to be there after the game is over so I could throw shit at him.  I don't care if he's from my hometown of Carroll - that guy is a dipshit who I'd punch in the face if given the chance.  What kind of dipshit leaves Iowa State to go to Iowa?  I hope he gets booed out of town while going 0-35 and fouling out of the game as the Cyclones romp the Chokes 100-2.

Happy Birthday Dad!

The funniest part in Anchorman is when Jack Black kicks the dog off the bridge into the ocean.  I wish I was Jack Black at that time.  Someone throws a burrito at you and then you get to kick a dog into the ocean from a 40' high bridge.  Lucky bastard.

Man it's cold out here, Mozilla tells me it's 0 degrees right now, yikes.  What is this, Iowa?  Ridiculous.  Oh, by the way, GO UNI!!!

Going to the Avs/Bruins game tonight, should be a good time.  I've been at home (awake) for like 5 minutes since Sunday and likely won't be there tonight either.   I'm craving my bed badly right now, very sleepy.

That, my friends, is Lofa Tatupu ... your soon-to-be rookie of the year.

Man it's been windy here, really really windy -- just insanely windy.

As for last nights game, well ... 42-0.   3 years in a row have the Seahawks had a shutout.  The last 2 games we've played in Philly, we have a combined score of 80-0.  That's right, we've scored EIGHTY points, and the Eagles haven't scored.   It's games like this where I thank the Eagles for not re-signing Randall Cunningham (the best player of all time) back in 1997, allowing me to ditch that team and start cheering full-throttle for my (then) second-favorite team, the Seahawks.

Are you still not a believer of the Seahawks?  We're 10-2.  We've gotten over so many humps this year ... we can beat the Rams, we can win on the road, we can win on Monday Night Football, we can win in OT, we can win on the East Coast, we can win with 1/2 of our defense being second-string, we can win without Shaun Alexander rushing for even 50 yards, we can win in the snow, we can win against a rough crowd ... we're coming at you full-throttle, and I fully expect my boys to be playing in February.

I thought I just had thin walls and was for some reason not able to sleep ... until I realized that they actually shut down C470 and that people the size of Jessica will flat-out blow away today.  As noted in the advisory:

WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS AT SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 35 TO 55 MPH WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 85 MPH WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE REST OF THE DAY. THE HIGH WINDS WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND RAPIDLY CHANGING VISIBILITIES

Anyways - had a good weekend, we'll just leave it at that.  This will be a busy week.  Tonight is the Seahawks/Eagles game, Duane and I are going to the Column to watch it.  Wednesday night I'm going to the Avs/Bruins game.  Friday night I'm going to see Phil Vassar at the Grizzly Rose.  Haven't seen him in concert since, well, I'm pretty sure it was December of either 1999 or 2000, not sure of the year, so I'm excited for that.

That server crash wasn't so bad yesterday as the backup was ready.  I'm still keeping busy working on upgrades though, just figured you'd like to know that.

I'm about 95% done with my Christmas shopping already, I can't f'n believe that.   I'm never one to shop for Christmas stuff until about the 22nd of December.  I decided this year I'd just do a little better, and I have.  I also bought a plane ticket to Minneapolis the other day, heading out there over Martin Luther weekend.

I'm trying my hardest to not let these snow conditions get me down, but all I hear about is everyone going skiing.  I wake up this morning and hear it snowed 14" at A-Basin last night.  I hear it's supposed to be constant powder for the next 6 days.  I hear all my friends talk about going.  I can't go.  This is the last time I'll say it, that damn kid better be thankful I helped him out.  I moved here for 1 reason:  the mountains.  The mountains are in the best conditions they've ever been in, and I can't use them.  This blows.
