March 21, 2003

I'm back from Vegas, this news will be very long most likely.

First and foremost as it's the most important thing I have to say today - I cannot express enough thanks and gratitude for all of your concern, support, and help over my recent personal tragedy.  Although I choose to not discuss it online, I need to thank all of you who spoke and emailed me, you have no idea whasoever how much I appreciate it and how much it has helped me, especially those of you who called - I cannot thank you enough.  You are all my family, regardless of any blood relations, and I am very blessed to have such wonderful friends.  Again - I deeply thank you for helping me through this most difficult time. Mom, Dad, Grandma, Cori, Kris, B.J., Crystal, Shaun, Matt & Amanda, Matthew, Buck, Kendall - and all the rest of you - I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I better update this site right now before the reality of non-Vegas life kicks back in, hopefully the misery doesn't come back as hard, but I can tell you this - I really needed that trip, it kept my mind off things and wow, it was just a great experience.  I was attending a conference for the software we used at work, I got a lot of new professional contacts and really, more than anything, learned "how to learn" on this job - as stupid as that sounds.

If I go into details of everything I did in Vegas, this'd be a million pages long, so I'll just let the pictures page work wonders for you (give me a few minutes to get that page updated) and I'll save one little story for you down below.   Also got to spend a few days with the Smith Dawggy Dawg - wow I forgot how much fun I can have with that kid.

Talk about snow!  I leave on Saturday - park the lovely Laetitia at DIA - and it's 73 degrees outside.  I land last night at 8 P.M. - it is 30 degrees, and there's about 4 feet of snow on the ground.  I'm out of groceries - so I go to the grocery store, barren wasteland.  No trucks can get in or out of this city so the grocery store is empty.  I had to buy a $14 frozen pizza becuase it was all that was left - couldn't even get a gallon of milk or anything!

I'm heading up to Breckenridge for the weekend to meet some new friends and do some snowboarding in the absolute best of conditions, I cannot wait!  It seems as if I'm going to explode if my life doesn't slow down sometime soon, between visitors and trips - I just need about 3 days to sit still and watch my Alice In Chains DVD.

Ok - now here's a single Vegas story for you with more to come - and yes, I'm very bitter about this.  So it's about midnight on Monday Night (St. Paddy's day) and I'm playing Pai Gow poker over at the Flamingo (across from Caesars, where I stayed) and I decide it's time to go to bed.  I walk across the street back to Caesers and on my way to my room I see an absolutely gorgeous girl in a green shirt with a frown on her face.  As I'm thinking of using Special K's line from Can't Hardly Wait ("oh baby, you are way to pretty to be lookin that sad" - or something like that) - I decide I'm not a complete tool so just walk up and do the traditional "Hi!".   It works perfectly, she smiles immediately.  I say something to the effect of "Green shirt, huh? Going out for St. Paddy's day?"  It turns out she was waiting for her friend to get off work then they were going out to party, she was upset because her friend was taking too long to get off work.  I ask her if she'd like to go get a drink - she would.  We go get a drink (I saved the reciept, it is my most prized personal possession, the bill from my date with a gorgeous girl in Vegas), I tip very well - she is VERY impressed at my tip.  I immediately decide I need a picture taken with this beautiful girl, she complies. (this picture does her NO justice whatsoever) It turns out she was going to Havasu the next day so I wouldn't get to see her for the rest of my trip - she asked me to go with them for the night, but (first mistake) I turned her down as I had to get up early the next day and it was slowly approaching 2 or 3 in the morning ( we were together talking for quite awhile ).  I get her phone number and, in my head, plan on buying her a plane ticket to fly to Denver so I can take her out, which I know she would have been up for.  I wake up the next morning - for the first time in a week - in a fantastic mood.  I go to my conference, get back to my room, MY MAID THREW HER PHONE NUMBER AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I now have a new lifelong mission - find this girl.  I will not release her name as so I do not get duped by some tool playing a joke on me, but I do know her name, but all online search options have failed me - and trust me, I know how to get info on people.  I cannot explain how cool this girl was. Anyways, if anyone knows this girl, no matter if you read this in 2009 - SEND ME INFO ON HOW TO CONTACT HER!!!!!!!

After that lead in - It is time to discuss the contests.

Contest 1 - the hot chick - will be announced on Monday.  We have fantastic entries, horrible entries, disgusting entries, and plain "What the?" entires.  I may split the winners into categories, we'll see what happens.

Contest #2 - wow, hands down - Matthew Renze is the victor with absolutely no chance of anyone ever defeating him.  Check it out (either click this or right-click and select "save target as").  I will be posting several runners-up later on - maybe today maybe not.

We have a new Wilson picture today.  We have a new picture of the day today (my new dream girl)  We have new feedbacks (both fans and haters) in a little while.   And lastly, today's MP3 is kind of lame, but I have a feeling it'll be how I feel today.  Aaron Lewis - Outside.

That's it for today, sorry for the chapters, I will be updating this site a ton next week.

Please continue to pray for my friends who very much need the prayers - and then, if you have any more prayers left in you, please pray for me, I need it right now.  Thanks again and sorry for the long posting today!

March 14, 2003

MP3 today is Pink Floyd - Goodbye Blue Sky

Say goodbye to happy Bryan, he is no longer.  Sorry I didn't update yesterday, I was too upset and had to leave work for the day.

I don't want to talk about it so don't ask, but if you're really stretching, I hate getting all emotional like this becuase it brings pity upon myself, but here's a short poem for you. (i decided to not post the poem, it was way too personal)

Lastly, I made a major decision last night and I need help with it, other major decisions are on their way I believe.  If anyone has any techniques to make me at least crack a smile - today is the day you'd want to use those techniques.

i probably wont update while in vegas, so i'll see you in a week.   pray for my friends and i please, thank you. goodbye blue sky, hello grey sky.

Whoa, Trudeau is making it up the ladder - good luck with the show!

Well, I kinda lied.  I didn't get my film developed last night - however - there are some new pictures on the newpix page that Leah gave to me - I guess you already saw one of them on the body page.  We were on the sun-down bowl on the back side of Vail and I took a hard spill, did a somersault, and landed with my head facing the bottom of the mountain, I proceeded to make a snow angel while I was down - she took a picture - hence, the new picture on the main page.  I just realized how badly I scanned those, if I get time I'll rescan them later.

ATTENTION - CONTEST #2 IS UP AND RUNNING!!!

We'll put up another one of those pictures on the plain 'ol pictures page, why not.

Didn't do much last night, washed Laetitia (who still has one untinted window), watched South Park, did some laundry, did some reading, etc etc.  May have something very cool starting up tonight for a regular Wednesday thing, but not sure yet - we'll see what happens.

MP3 today will be, uhm, (thinking of something really quickly) - Slick Rick - Adults Only

Holy cow fanmail is up these days!  I'm going to have to update that page one of these days.  Props to Chris Clark for designing the first shirt ever with a fleetmack.com logo on it! We'll be wearing them at Breck next weekend, and no - they're not for sale, I'll post a picture of them if he can get one to me.

Yet again, Doonesbury is funny and true at the same time.

Hardcore gave me the best idea ever - I'm going to start posting funny voicemails left to me very late at night.  I checked my phone last night and I had erased them all unfortuantely - but from now on, if you leave me a funny drunk message - expect it to be posted.  Giddy Up!  Ok - work time - new stuff all around.

March 11, 2003

Avs tied last night, how about that.  We're 3 points out of first place, but I think the Canucks play twice before we play next so we'll see what happens.

Man, I went to the gym forever last night - got home and ate then fell asleep during second period on the couch.  I'm so run down lately, I'm just exhausted.  Oh well, the upcoming "vacation" may take care of that for me :o)  I leave on Saturday morning and will be gone until Thursday night, I will probably bring a laptop with me so I can check email and update the site yet, but we'll see for sure.

MP3 today is The Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch (yes, it's the Discovery Channel song) Again, not in a very good mood today so search around, good stuff.   Congrats to Kris Kohorst on her new jobby job and her upcoming move to Minneapolis.   Email her and tell her congrats! - and please, at least one person click that link so I feel cool!

That's all for now, have a good one. --- OH! - new pictures will be up tomorrow.

March 10, 2003

Today is a horrible day, at least the weather is nice.

But the weekend was great! Mule, Tyler, and Schweers were out here - went up to Breck riding for the day on Saturday - had a great time.  I will put up pictures later this week - they're on film, not digital. Not much else today to say - but I'll post the usual updates for you (mp3, picture, wilson).  Lastly - please continue to pray for my friends, I appreciate - but trust me, they appreciate it a hell of a lot more.

By the way - I"m officially entering myself into the fleetmack.com sign/chick contest.  Same rule applies for me however, I cannot know the chick.   I want to win my last piece of pizza.

March 7, 2003

WOO HOO!!! LOOK AT THAT ABOVE TEMPERATURE TODAY!!! Damn it's nice here in Golden, Colorado!

Wow, I'm proud of myself - I just got my body fat tested and I'm between 10-11%, that's down from 14% last time I checked.  Giddy up.

Canucks Lost!  Oh man that's cool, MAN that's cool - we play Tampa Bay 2nite and the Flyers on Saturday.  If we win both of those games, and Vancouver loses on Saturday, we're 1 point away from first place - GO AVS!!

Friends will be here this evening for a weekend of Snowboarding again, man - this season is dwindeling down fast isn't it?!  This season isn't even over yet and it's been a great snowy year and I cannot wait for next year's season already! Die Randy will be retired after this year.  Speaking of that, it's about time for a new poll, maybe I'll get on that next week.  My PHP skills should allow me to do it this time by myself without Mr. Renze's help :)

I don't feel like updating the site today, sorry - if anything cool comes around, I'll post it - usual updates are up (wilson picture today KICKS ASS! IF ever you were to look at a wilson picture, today's the day!)  MP3 is up for the weekend - it is THE SINGLE MOST TRUE song on earth, check it.  Have a good weekend.

March 6, 2003

Remember when this happened last summer?   Well - Ms. Barton has been brought to justice.

Av's won and are within 4 points (2 wins) of first place. Help me cheer against the Canucks tonight!  I can't watch tonight, and I can't watch South Park either tonight, and it's an all time favorite - I'll have to record it without commercials.  Tonight is the episode where Cartman is selling aborted fetuses for stem cell research - when the guy on the phone gives him a bad price for the fetus, Cartman responds with "These aborted fetuses and I have something in common - we both weren't just born yesterday!"   HYSTERICAL!!! I remember the first time I saw that, Steph and I laughed for close to an hour I bet, man that was funny!

Oh man, Dilbert cracked me up good today.

Laetitia is getting an alarm, keyless entry, and new cd/mp3 player installed today - next time you bastards break in you're getting schmucked with my mag-lite so beware, I'll hear you coming this time!  Laetitia got a new change dish too, so all I need to do to her now is tint her new window (that replaced the shattered one) and install a new thermostat and she'll be the sexiest accord on the streets.  She'll look like this again!

We have a new leader in the contest - so if you want to knock him out of the gold medal slot - you best to be sending in entries!

I've never seen this show, but apparently there's some show called Hot or Not on TV right now.  Well, as I said - I've never seen it and don't plan on watching it - but if you by some chance watch it tonight, Seahawks cheerleader Amber is apparently one of the final contestants ( i learned this from www.seahawks.com) .  I don't understand why, judges need to tell her she's hot?  I don't get it, why do they need a TV show to decide this.  I'll tell you right now - AMBER IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Take a looksey.

New Friend on the Friend's page!  Haven't seen this guy in years, because he's in the Navy in the South Pacific right now - but check it out, this guy used to live next door to Hornick, OGC, Klaver, and I on Deleware Ave. in Ames - the one and only - Brian Rash.

Got some FANTASTIC feedback about my new rant and new writing - thanks for that!  I'm glad people enjoy it and agree with me, thanks a ton for the feedback!

Not sure what the picture of the day will be, but rest assured, I'll post it.  By the way - record numbers this week - over 4000 unique visitors in a week, giddy up. Lastly - the MP3 of the day will be Jerry Cantrell - Anger Rising.  For those of you who don't know, Jerry Cantrell was the lead guitarist/backup vocalist/song writer for Alice in Chains before Layne died. This solo album rocks, check out this song, if you like it, let me know and I'll hook you up with a little special somethin' somethin'.  Ok, got stuff to do, adios.

March 5, 2003

HAPPY ASH WEDNESDAY!  What are you giving up for Lent?

How do you like that? Look at the ONLY state who has under 15% of people classified as obese.  Man we Coloradans are in shape! WOO HOO!

I just don't understand why Iowa has trouble keeping people there.  I mean, it's scenic, there's a ton to do, the weather is great, and they pass cool laws like this.  I don't see why they're having any trouble at all getting people to stay there as they finish school.   Possibly the most sarcastic thing I've ever said.

As mentioned yesterday, Stone Sour and PM5K are having a show here (Denver) at The Fillmore on May 4 (Sunday night).  Tickets aren't yet on sale and it will be general admission - a kickass show.  If you have interest in this, let me know - make a 3 day weekned out of it.  I saw Stone Sour play with Chevelle back in September and it was arguably the best concert I've ever seen.

Random link again - check out what Jobless Jimmy is up to today!

The Canucks lost last night, that rules.  We play, uhm, Florida tonight I think, not really sure about that though.

MP3 of the day will be PM5K (Powerman 5000) - Tonight The Stars Revolt!  There's a new pic of the day today, there's a new fantastic Wilson picture up today on the Wilson page, and there's pictrues from v-day, along with last Saturday night on the New Pictures page.    There's a new writing on the Religion page regarding Lent and there's a new rant up as well.  This rant is atypical of my normal rants.  It's titled "Why Do You Go To Church?".  I recently discovered (realized) that "my" church sucks and I wrote about why, it doesn't make much sense, but it's up.

So there's lots of goodies for you today, enjoy and have a great day!   Klaver - I'll hook you up with a Cantrell download link later today.....ahh, what the hell - EVERYONE ENJOY THIS LINK   FOR ONE DAY ONLY!!!

March 4, 2003

AHHHH!!!!!!! STONE SOUR IS COMING BACK TO DENVER!!!! THEY ARE PLAYING ON MAY 4TH AT THE FILLMORE WITH POWERMAN 5000 AND RA!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO WANTS TO COME?!?!?! IT'S GENERAL ADMISSION ON A SUNDAY NIGHT - COME HERE FOR THE WEEKEND BEFORE AND MAKE A WEEKEND OUT OF IT!!!!!!!! TICKETS AREN'T ON SALE YET BUT I'M BUYING THE FIRST DAY!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYSON (STORK) FLEMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll never forget Aly's birthday because the first time she told me what her birthday was, she's like "I'll give you a hint, it's within the first 4 days of March."  It was funny, guess you had to be there.

THIS IS HILARIOUS!!!

I cleaned my filthy apartment last night, got Laetitia a new change dish, and went CD shopping.  Yes - not CD Downloading like usual.  A couple of people who deserve the money had some cds i needed, so I made 2 purchases.  Jerry Cantrell - Degradation Trip Volumes 1 and 2.   Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around.  They're both fantastic and I highly recommend them both.  I'm going car alarm shopping 2nite so I can put my new cd player in my car, I'm not putting it in until I get my alarm, yup, sure aren't.

New pictures are up today, should have more later in the week as well from this weekend at Vail, we'll see about that :)

MP3 of the day will be 2 MP3's of the day.  NIN - Hurt.  Johnny Cash - Hurt ( I know I've done that one already).  Figured I'd show you the original by NIN and the remake by Johnny Cash.   Who would have ever thought Johnny Cash would remake a Nine Inch Nails song?   Wow that's odd.

Hits are going great this month, March is looking to shatter all post-hosting-maddox's-site records.  My goal is 20,000 unique visitors this month and an average of 900 visits a day - can we do it?  Keep the word out!

The contest has been extended to March 24 for an end date.  There's a new picture of the day up and tomorrow I will have up a new rant and religious writing - the 2 kind of coinside together, well, not really - whatever - come back tomorrow and check them out.

March 3, 2003

HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY KELLY OOSTERHUIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Monday - I have a huge headache today but I just popped some good 'ol tylenol gel caps so I should be good to go within the hour.  Had a really great weekend.  Tom was back in town so we hit up the Park Center Lounge like old times - pictures will be posted sometime today, but they're not here yet.

Went to Vail with Leah yesterday - had a really good time, didn't get hurt, and have sore legs today.  I took it very very easy on myself yesterday, no jumping or trying to do any tricks (like I'm any good at it anyways!) becuase I fear hurting myself anymore.  I'm a wuss. Vail rocks, it's so damn big - should have some pictures of that excursion sometime soon, but they're on Leah's camera, not mine, so it's up to her as to when they get posted.

I was so tired when I got home last night that I had to apply staples to my eyelids to stay awake, but I saw the single best Av's game I've watched in a long time.   10 seconds left, Av's up 2-1, Blackhawks score with 2 seconds left in the game - but Tanguay scored with a minute left in OT to give us the victory, and to pull us within 4 points of the Canucks (and first place!)  After that, I fell asleep on the couch fast.

It has been brought to my attention that an administrator of a certain website has pulled email addresses from my site and is using them for solicitation.   I apologize for all those listed on the "fans" page whose email address I listed - if you got this email, I had no idea this was going on and I have no idea who the person is who solicited you.  I have removed all of your email addresses from the "fans page" -- but the people on the hatemail page can keep their email addresses posted as stated in the disclaimer.  Again - I apologize for this.

bryan@fleetmack.com is now the active email address again - all fixed.  All emails received between 2-25 and 3-3 have been lost, so if I didn't reply to you - it's not my fault! It's my hosting company's fault! ahhh!  Forgive and forget - on to bigger and better.

Yort dawg claims to have single-handedly won the contest, but I have yet to see his entry.  You still have 10 days to submit your entry to me - GET ON IT!! NOW'S NOT A TIME TO MESS AROUND!!! WIN THIS CONTEST!!!!  The next contest is prepared and is much easier and will have a short time-frame, so be prepared.  I'm going to extend the current contest's date until I get back from Vegas, so probably like March 22 for an end date - entries please, NOW!

New stuff all around today.  MP3 of the day will be something by System of a Down, but I'm not sure what yet.  We'll also go for a new Wilson picture (today's is a personal favorite!) and a new picture of the day.  The news archives are officially one year old as well, so I have 1/24th of my life documneted.  Man I'm a loser.

I'd definately ask you to keep my 2 friends in need of prayers in your mind.  This week is an important time for that, Lent is coming up.  For Lent I believe I'm going to give up Chips & Salsa, and I'm going to give up swearing.   I'm giving up something else as well, but that's for just me to know about, not you!
